California Grill Recommendations

Rock Shrimp Salad, Goat Cheese Ravioli, and Tuna 3 Ways has been on the menu over the last couple years I've been going, and I've visited at different times of the year. I really hadn't noticed any seasonal changes at all, but perhaps some of the standards that I like are just staying put while others rotate on and off.

the chances i've noticed is that the oak grilled filet is always there but sides/accompaniments/sauces always change. they used to have wagyu strip now it is ribeye (with different sides). I would say the sides are more seasonal than the iconic mains.

We ate here last week. The halibut was amazing! I wanted to lick the sauce off the plate, but I restrained myself. I don't normally like sushi, but I love it here! They were very accommodating to use rice paper for me instead of the nori. My husband had the filet and he said it was better than his steak at STK. I've had the pork before which is also very good. The goat cheese ravioli is outstanding as well.

The Cali Grill does have a menu that changes seasonally, but I will strongly recommend the Sonoma goat cheese ravioli if it's available when you dine there. One of my most favorite appetizers at WDW!

I agree! This was great. My husband hit the waygu beef which was amazing

The Wagyu Beef I had in July was one of the best meals I've ever had. My partner had the Joyce Farms Chicken and that was pretty good but not amazing.

in 2014 I had the bison filet with a cherry reduction and brussel sprouts with shallots and proscuitto. It was the most heavenly thing I have ever ate. We watched the fireworks on the CG private viewing deck and desert after the fireworks. Once in a lifetime date night!

We had dinner there on 9/20 and it was fantastic! We were on the DxDDP also and our server told us no restrictions....not sure if that is supposed to be the case but we had no issues ordering anything we wanted.

Started off with bread service and fancy butter.

For apps I had the California Combination Roll. I am not a big sushi fan and found this to be a great choice for someone like me. It was sooo good!

DH had the Dragon Roll, which I had heard was restricted on the DxDDP so not sure if we should have been able to order it or not but no issues. Anyways he said it was amazing (he likes sushi) and while I stuck to my own food I did think the presentation was beautiful!

For entrees I went with the Oak-fired Filet and it was delicious!

DH went with the Wagyu Beef and he said it was also amazing.

For dessert we both went with the Smores Creme Brulee and it was really good.

We also received an anniversary cupcake. GAH so much food lol! Awesome experience though.
On a side note we had a 5:40pm ressie with Wishes scheduled at 8pm (which ended up being delayed until after 11pm due to storms). We were sat very quickly and had our orders in by 6pm. The food was a bit rushed out which I was a bit surprised because I had heard that signature dinners take around 2 hours and I assumed there would be some breaks in between the courses. Not a big deal and I suppose we should have maybe told the server we wanted to take things slow, but I assumed that was the norm with these meals. Anyways that was the only thing that caught me off guard as I felt bad taking my time because my impression was they were trying to get us in and out lol. Still was not a huge set back and I would absolutely go again.

The pictures of the bread basket reminded me of how much I LOVE the lavender focaccia bread! At almost all restaurants, I skip the bread basket...but not here!
