I've booked a 9:15pm reservation (that's all they had left) for a date night with hubby. The fireworks are at 10 that night. Not sure what to expect so I've got some questions:

If we don't get lucky and land a window seat, I've heard you want go up to an observation deck to watch. If say, we're already into our meal, which I anticipate we will be by then, will they have a problem holding the main course while we go up to watch? Will we be rushed since it closes at 10? Or is it just that they stop seating at 10pm?

If our main course is already out, how can we just leave it there on the table to go up?

I'm just trying to anticipate the timing...

I keep checking back with the online ressie system trying to get an earlier ressie, maybe in time for the sunset and then we can head down to MK for the fireworks

Honestly just ask your server and they will let you know what is best. The service at CG has been consistently outstanding and this is something they deal with EVERY night there are fireworks.

We don't usually stay late enough there for fireworks so I can't answer directly. I can tell you if you get a window seat - be prepared for people to come and loom over you. CG does a pretty good job of not letting that happen as much, but it can on occasion and its pretty annoying. I remember 1 incident with that at CG - some family came in between us and the table next to us up at the glass. The service came over within a couple of minutes and had them sit down - we didn't even have to say anything.

Of course that happened to us at CP last time too - it happens anywhere there is a window, space and fireworks!

You won't be rushed and your servers will do their best to accommodate whatever pacing you request for your meal. They know that the fireworks are a big draw for people and they're very gracious about assuring that everybody can enjoy them.

You won't be rushed at all as a PP said. They stop taking ADR's at 10, sometimes people don't sit until much later than that (those with ADR's before the fireworks will often drag out their dining expereince until after Wishes, which can push back all the following ADR's quite a bit). With a 9:15 ADR you may not even be at a table until after Wishes because of this. Some nights run a lot smoother than other nights.

If you don't want a dinner that late, but still would like to see Wishes from the observation deck, you can return to CG with your receipt from that night and they will let you up to watch Wishes, even if you had the first ADR of the night. Maybe that will open up some options or help you feel better if you can land an earlier ADR.

As others have said, don't fret and just ask your server. The last time we were there, the server suggested holding back our dessert for the fireworks, which worked perfectly. They'll be able to judge if it is best to hold back the main course in your case. If the weather is nice, I would recommend going to the observation deck, even if you do have a window seat. The views are incredible outside.
