After having our ADR's set for 4 months, DD decided she'd rather eat at California Grill than at Hollywood Brown Derby. OK... so on 6/24, I managed to score an ADR for Cali Grill on 8/23 at 9:30pm. This is NOT too late for us, and Wishes is at 10pm that night so we are even more excited:woohoo:! I have a couple of questions, though!

First... is there any way we can request a table with a view of Wishes? If we can't see Wishes from our table, can we move, or is that just too tacky?

Second... DD is mostly vegetarian, although she will eat (and sometimes even enjoy) chicken- but no other meat, fish, eggs. She cannot eat mushrooms or any type of fungus as she has an 'allergy' to them. Should I contact Cali Grill about her dietary concerns or just let it go? I am not worrying about our other ADRs as (1) they are all one-credit, and (2) DD is usually willing to eat around the meat (although the fungus need to be avoided). I am hoping this will be an amazing culinary experience for both of us; I hate to think she'll order some kind of pasta and pick things out. Do you think I should contact the restaurant?

THanks:hippie:

They will tell you all the tables have a view of Wishes because the whole place is windows. Some tables are better than others-but if you get a table with a less than stellar view, you can always go out on the balcony and view it from there. They pipe the music outside and it's great.:thumbsup2 As far as getting up and moving to another place inside the restaurant-I would only do so after making sure you aren't impeding someone elses' view. ;)

You can add your dietary concerns/restrictions to your ADR and you can also inform them at the restaurant when you arrive. Disney in general is wonderful accommodating dietary concerns/issues.:thumbsup2

NO, I'd really try to avoid blocking other peoples' views of Wishes! I didn't know they had an outdoor balcony!!! Way MEGA cool!!!!:cool1::cool1: I am so psyched for this trip- can ya tell?

I know this is an old post, but I have a few questions for you. DH and I just booked California Grill for our Christmas trip. DH sounds like he eats a lot like your daughter, chicken is the only meat he will eat and he is also allergic to mushroom/fungus...I think your DD is the only other person I've heard of with this. How was your meal/experience? Did your DD find something she enjoyed? We have been to Disney before, but this is our first experience with the Cali Grill. We have already added his allergy to our reservation. Thanks!:goodvibes

I would add the allergy to the reservation & talk to your server about it when you arrive. The chef will come over to discuss options for you.

The always have a vegetarian option. I've actually had a few & I'm not a vegetarian :goodvibes They were delish! Their flatbreds are always very good & their 4 cheese (3 cheese?) is a signature item & always on the menu. The heirloom tomato one is very good when available. I'm sure they could modify other flatbreads for an appy for her.
