Okay...hubby and I have totally revamped our "night out alone" plans. We aren't going to Epcot at all.

The new plan is park at Contemporary. Monorail bar hop to GF, then Poly, and then dinner at California Grill. Does anyone have any pics of the CG? Main dish recommendations????

Here are some. We like the Beef filet and the Sushi! Pork Tenderloin is great also! You can't go wrong here really!

Thanks so much for the photos! I didn't even realize that CG had a sushi bar. :Pinkbounc

I had to laugh when I made the PS. CM told me there was a dress code "smart casual" or something like that. He looked it up -- no bathing suits. LOL. I told him I'm glad he told me. I was planning to wear cut offs and a tube top. :jester:

I second the tenderloin recommendation...and the butterscotch creme brulee is not to be believed! Very yummy.

If you aren't in any kind of a hurry, request a table by the window, and let them know that you're willing to extend your wait in order to get one. The view is well worth it, and between the bar, the balcony and the people-watching, you won't be bored!

Thank you again. Your pics really are the next best thing to being there! I now know what rosottio is. I think I spelled that very wrong. Anyway, it's like rice??? Never knew. It looked great.

You guys will have an awesome date!! I agree with Eponine that you should try to get a window table -- either with a view of Cinderella's Castle or looking towards Epcot (you can see the fireworks from there at 9 pm)... Makes the experience even more special. I have had their tuna a few times and highly recommend it if you like that sort of thing. The sushi appetizers are also delicious. All in all, this is a wonderful place -- I think you made a great decision switching from Epcot to CG!

Have a great time,
Sarah

We definitely are going to try for a window seat. We made our PS for 7:30. Fireworks that night are scheduled for 8:00. From what I've read, there seems to be a 50/50 chance of getting window seat. I wonder if we'd have a better chance if we told the CM(?) that we'd be willing to wait once we got there.

Re: risotto. I made my first risotto (if that's what you were talking about) not too long ago. It was a butternut squash risotto. It involves a lot of standing by the stove and stirring. Absolutely wonderful! But you must have a full glass of wine poured before you start :p .

Bichon Barb...have seen your name on the boards before and have wondered--do you have a bichon?? We lost our little scottie in October and my mom doesn't think she's strong enough to have another scottie...thinks she'll think of katie all the time and does not want to end up comparing the two. She's in love with bichons right now. If you have one, was wondering what their temperment is like?? Thanks.
