California Grill or Narcoosee's?

Hi!

My family (me, two sisters, brother-in-law, two preschool nephews, mom and stepdad) visit WDW at Christmas. We try to do a nice dinner the final evening, and the last few visits we've done the Yachtsman Steakhouse. (We're a Y/C, B/C group.) Love it there, but we thought we'd try something new and maybe from someplace we could watch Wishes.

With this group, would you try CG or Narcoosee's? The preschoolers are very well behaved, but I'm worried that CG might be a little much for them, and there's no escape - at least at Narcoosee's, we could take them outside for a break if they needed it.

And how's the food/service compare at each? And the view of Wishes?

Thanks so much for your help! :)

The view at CG is the best on property for wishes. They do have a deck area off of two sides where you can see pretty much everything in the area. They also pipe in the music for the fireworks. Food and service are great and they are used to little guest.

YS is one of our faves but last xmas eve we tried Narcoossees. The food was good as was our server and we had a great table. You are sitting at water view so the view of the fireworks is different but you would also get a good view of the Electrical Water pageant.

You cant go wrong with either restaurant.

With kids, I think I'd opt for narcoosee's. Tho we always see children at each restaurant, seems there are lots more at Narcoosees than CG.

DH and I just ate at both. Honestly we found CA Grille to be very overrated, including the view.

We would go back to Narccoossee's in a heartbeat! Have the almond cheesecake thing.

I've noticed I've gotten some pretty experienced DIS'ers answering my question - I appreciate it!

Can I do both????:) Seriously, both sound great - now I'm thinking maybe we should. We like our nice dinners. :)

Or maybe a family dinner at Narcoosee's... and then pawn the kids off on Gramma and Grampa and have a sibling/adult dinner at California Grill.

It's nice to know there ARE kids at California Grill...that'll make my sister feel better. I know everyone says this, but they ARE well behaved (we take them out all the time and remove them EXTREMELY quickly if there are problems) - and if she has her heart set on taking them there, at least we won't be the only ones.

Thanks again, everyone!

Drop the kids off at one of the Child Care Clubs (Neverland at the Polynesian, Camp Dolphin @ Swan/Dolphin, Cubs Den @ WL, etc..). They will entertain your children and feed them dinner for a reasonable fee. That way Gramma and Grandpa can join you for an all adult night out!

(That's what we did...and they loved it!)

Actually, I've seen Wishes from both restaurants twice now, and the view from Narcooses is much better. The old fireworks had a great view from the CG, but Wishes is designed to be best when seen head-on, which you get more at narcooses than CG.

At any rate, either would be fine, but I think Narcooses is perhaps a better choice with younger kids.
