We are on the ddp and have more than our alloted reservations! We always pay oop for breakfast buffets and use the plan for our dinner meals! Here's my question, We have reservations at CG and my husband wants a steak and I want sushi, and I will get at least 3 rolls (cause I know he will be digging in my plate). Can I use the dining plan for his steak and just pay for me and my son's meal? or do i have to use the ddp for everyone at the table? I see where it would better serve me at other restuarants than just using it for one sushi roll and having to pay for the others. To me a $25 sushi roll is not worth 2 credits. Thanks for your help!

Maybe 3 rolls is too much? If we were just getting sushi and sharing, I wouldn't use the ddp for that meal but since my husband wants to try the steak??

You can use the DDP to pay for your husband's steak and then pay OOP for you and your son if you want.

OT: I'm just curious as to why your husband wants a steak from California Grill. I've had their steak and was not impressed with it at all. In fact, the best steak I've had on property is at the Flying Fish. I love their char crusted steak. Jiko also has a good steak. Yachtsman is another signature restaurant that is known for their steaks. I've eaten there 4 times though and think their steaks are just OK though.:rotfl: Don't get me wrong I love California Grill, but go there for the view and their sushi, flatbreads, and pork tenderloin. We've also had good scallops, buffalo, and ostrich at California Grill. For one credit the best steaks we've had has been the filet at Le Cellier, and the strip steaks at Turf Club, and surprisingly at Coral Reef a few times.

Thanks for your post! We ate at LeCeiler last year but couldn't get in at night. I felt the steaks were good but thought they were probably better at night. LeCeiler is already booked solid for dinner on our dates but I will keep checking! We are big sushi fans, so we will go strictly sushi now! He can get a steak elsewhere and we will save our credits for another meal!

If you want good sushi (I thought it was better that Cali grill's), go to the sushi bar at kona cafe.
You don't even need a reservation. Just walk up to the sushi bar and sit..first come first serve. You can get a roll as an app and a roll as your entree for 1 credit on the deluxe. You can also get the regular kona menu there as well (I don't eat steak so I don't know how it is). But, definitely the best place that we go to for sushi and it's like being at the chef's table sitting there.
You have to ask for the welcome bread if you sit at the sushi bar!
