California Grill on 30th Dec

Hi guys! It is my husband's birthday on 30th Dec and we would like to have a meal at the California Grill. Is it true that the MK does 'practice New Years Eve' fireworks on this evening? Does anyone know what time? It would be great to see these as a bonus on his b'day!

Normal procedure is that regardless of what time fireworks are held, if you dine at CG you are welcome to come back up to the observation deck to view fireworks. Just need to show your receipt at the check-in desk.

Right now the only thing listed is Holiday Wishes at 8:30p but the park is open til midnight so I wouldn't be surprised to see another showing added but who knows.

The Magic Kingdom does the full NYE fireworks show on December 30th at midnight. Not sure if California Grill will be open that late on the 30th, but it is open late for a special NYE dinner on the 31st.

California Grill stops seating people by then, I think the last seating is at 10, but they are definitely still open since many dinners take about 2 hours. We went last year for MY birthday on Dec. 30th & it was honestly the best birthday I ever had. My DSis lives about an hour away & surprised me by showing up unannounced. They were very accommodating & allowed us to add an extra person when we checked in, there was pixie dust on the table & DH had ordered me a cake. It was just so nice!

We had a late dinner, but we left just before Fantasy in the Sky fireworks & headed over to TOWL since were staying at BLT & watched them from there. There were many people also watching from the observation deck at CG. It is really a great place to view since they light them off in multiple locations. Here is a pic my DD took from BLT.

When I have stayed at the Contemporary between Christmas & New Years I remember on December 30th they would show the New Years fireworks, but it was not at 12:00 AM and it was at the regular scheduled time.

They do show Wishes earlier in the evening but they show Fantasy in the Sky fireworks at midnight on Dec. 30th & have been doing so for at least the last few years, but not sure when they started doing it that way.

For anyone considering New Years Eve Dinner, it's 500.00 per person. Has anyone dined at CG on NYE, and was it worth the money?
