We really want to go to California Grill on Friday Nov. 12th since they will be showing Holiday Wishes & we are not going to MVMCP this year. Well as soon as I booked our trip a couple of weeks ago, I was able to book all our dining reservations including the ever popular LeCellier, but every time I checked on line it said that nothing was available at CG for Nov. 12th.

I ended up calling thinking maybe I'd have better luck over the phone, but the CM said "No it must be very popular because it's booked solid." She told me try back again last minute, because people will cancel or their credit cards get charged as a no show. That made sense & we've had luck making last minute ADRs that we couldn't get before, but I kept trying every day anyway just because I can.

Well lo & behold I tried this evening & I have my choice of times for CG for that night. Why would that be? Why would they not have reservations available at all & now a bunch? :confused3

Such as:

1) System was having issues and not showing availability when you first checked and called. DRC uses the same system as online, which could explain why the CM also got no results (DRC CM's cannot see booked vs. not booked; only if there is availability, similar to your display)

2) A large group that may have booked CG cancelled, opening up inventory

3) Sometimes popular restaurants open table availability/inventory in phases

Good job on staying diligent and re-checking!!

Thanks for your reply! I have since read some posts, that stated there was some glitch in the system recently. I guess it does pay to keep checking. :thumbsup2
