I know the dress code for California Grill, but I was wondering if the Lounge has the same dress code. I'm assuming it does, but I just wanted to check.

How strict is CG with their dress code? I was thinking about going on a park day, but the dress code had me a little worried. Will they let you dine if you have an ADR but you aren't dressed to the code?

From pictures I've seen it appears the dress code is very loosely enforced so I would not put too much worry into it.

The dress code is so lax you would have to try pretty purposefully to not meet it. There would be no good excuse to not be able to meet the dress code imo.

Would a skirt, tank top and flip flops for me work? And khaki shorts, a polo and running shoes for DH?

Hate to say so - there is no dress code, as it is not enforced. It's "there" in the event someone really gross shows up, so the "dress code" can be enforced in the event of a really bad situation.

They will let you in dressed this way, if that's what you're asking. You might get seated in the section the families with loud children mysteriously seem to all end up in but... you still get to eat.

There is no formal dress code as such--it's merely a SUGGESTED code and you are ASKED to adhere to it.. Then there follows a short list of what is not actually allowed in the restaurant. THAT is the enforceable part of the "code". Anything that is absent from the not allowed list IS allowed--even if it isn't on the suggested list. Cargo shorts are a prime example. What Safroim suggests will be perfectly fine. And from many meals there, I can say the staff won't care whatsoever how anyone is dressed.

And for Mushu's Twin, to add that the so-called "lounge" at California Grill probably won't awe you--it's a collection of 8 low tables smack-dab in the middle of the restaurant. You can get a full meal there if you wish..

Actually tank tops are on the list of things not permitted.

I'm wondering what Disney's definition of "tank tops" is. Ive always wondered if that prohibition applied to men, only. A sleeveless shirt on women can have a dressier look than muscle shirts/"wife beaters"/tank tops on men.

I've been to Cali Grill wearing a nice flowy shirt with spaghetti straps and dressy shorts and no one said a word, nor did I expect them to since it was a nicer outfit than normal park wear.

I was probably being overly cautious, but I changed what I wore to the California Grill, based on the No Tank Top wording.

IT does NOT apply to women in tops that have tank top like straps!!!! IT is intended for the men wearing gym like tank tops, etc. or for the occasional woman who might stumble in wearing an undershirt. Mrs Uncleromulus wore several "spaghetti strap" tops to JIko, Narcoosees and Flying FIsh--no problem whatsoever.
