Hi! We have a 9:30 reservation for California Grill (where we have never been). Does anybody think that is too late there to have an enjoyable meal? I'm asking about the California Grill specifically -- we are night owls so the time generally wouldn't bother me, but I'm wondering if it will be too late at this particular restaurant.

Thanks!

We eat this late all of the time, including at CG. The restaurant will probably still be pretty full but if you are lucky, it's after the fireworks and the bulk of the crowd (and noise) has left which means you will have a wonderful dinner there.

I agree. If you're coming in after the fireworks, you should be fine.

Thanks! You have made me feel much better about this reservation. Ideally, I wanted it a little earlier, but no luck. We are getting kids nite out for that night so we can have a dinner out alone. Since we have to pay for 4 hours of the service anyway, I figured that maybe having a late dinner wouldn't be so bad.

The California Grill is probably the only signature restaurant that I would recommend a late meal at (maybe Flying Fish also). We've been seated at both Artist Point and Jiko after 9PM and both times were really rushed which ruined the experience. CG always has folks dining late but it seems AP and Jiko wanted to shut down right at 10PM and the staff was ready to go home.

Yep. Almost all of the screaming kids will be gone.

Don't count on it! We ate @California Grill with a 9:30 reservation and I was thinking the same thing. I was quite wrong, there were LOTS of kids, and not sitting so quietly either. It just seemed like so many were so overtired! I felt bad for them actually and was thinking, their parents can't possibly be enjoying this meal!
Once we sat down and relaxed, it wasn't too bad to tune everything out and enjoy! The best meal at Disney we've had so far!

We had a 9pm ADR also, and had Fairy Godmothers for the kiddos with a 4 hr minimum. We got there just after the fireworks, and the restaurant quieted and emptied out while we were there. We got a table for 2 by the window with a view of Cinderella's Castle all lit up. Very romantic dinner. By 11pm, when we were done, there were no buses back to Pop, so we took a taxi and Pop reimbursed us the taxi fare. I didn't feel it was too late or that the service was rushed. Best meal we had.

Why were there no buses? Did MK close early that night?
