California Grill - Is 9:20 ressie too late??

We are visiting in July & Wishes starts at 10 pm. I want to get a reservation for around 8:30 but they say nothing around that time is available on July 13th? Should I keep calling back to see if something opens up? Will we be able to view the fireworks from anywhere in the restaurant or will the best seats be taken? I wanted the kids to be able to view the fireworks but if that isn't going to be possible I will probably cancel the reservation...

You'll be able to view the fireworks from the observation deck. It is unlikely you will get a table on the windows with a 9:20 ressie as people at those tables tend to linger to see the fireworks from their seats. We have been to CG 5 times and have never been seated on the windows facing the castle - have always gone out to one of the observation decks and the view is just wonderful.
