Can you see the spectro fireworks at this resaurant? Will you miss anything by not being closer? What time do you book to see the 9 o'clock fireworks?

Thanks,
PEANUTGIRL

Spectro Magic is a night time parade . The Magic Kingdom Fireworks are wishes. I would make a ressies for 7pm or before... the closer it gets to fireworks the slower everyone starts to eat lol. the people that are just finishing dinner do not leave ... they have coffe etc... whatever to fill in the time and to keep their table. I personally like to eat there very early in the evening and then come back to the outside viewing area when it is time. That way my meal is much more calm and quiet and I still get to see the fireworks.

On the Monday after Easter this year, we went WITHOUT a PS and got to the desk and told them that we would like to have a drink at the bar and wait for the "Chef's Counter". THe Chef's Counter seats 2 and the "Sushi Counter" seats 4. They are both set up with bar stool / counters facing the kitchen. You get to interact with the Chef's while dining.

They sent us upstairs, we watched the fireworks from the balcony outside and when it was finished, we got sat about 15 minutes later. It was perfect.

Our food was.....
A "snake in the grass" roll, which was EXCELLANT and sashimi (not much variety)

and a Sushi Platter which was good. We're sushi and sashimi lovers so with the exception of the "Snake in the Grass" the rest was ordinary by our standards, but thats because we've begun exploring some cutting edge sushi bars in the past year.

Mister Disney, are you sure you'd go CS over CG??? I read your V&A chef's table review yesterday and loved it, so I'm crushed that you would say CS over CG. I was debating back and forth between the two and decided that as our last dinner at WDW, we would go to CG because of all the favorable reviews. I've read some mixed reviews on Concourse. "WE" are me, DH, DD12, twin DD's10, and hopefully my DB. The adults are all truly adventurous, I lean toward seafood, DH will always talk about seafood right before ordering the biggest steak he can find. We'll be on the dining plan, but DD12 and I will share and I'll have the younger 2 order an appetizer or kid's meal, and we'll all share. Do you really think Concourse would be better?????

OOPS I just realized I posted this reply on the wrong thread, should have been on the one comparing California Grill to Concourse Steak House. Not sure if its possible to move a reply so I'll just repost. Sorry.

As someone else stated in another post, I guess comparing CS to CG is like comparing apples to oranges.

I like CS at lunch, it was very relaxing, not very noisey and the few things we had were great.

When comparing that to CG at dinner, I thought it was VERY loud, not very relaxing because of that and the food we sampled that night was just "ordinary" by our standard, which might be too high.

You see we have become VERY adventurous with Sushi and Sashimi and just didn't believe that it lived up to what we experienced elsewhere (off Disney property) when we were there.

For dinners, Kevin and I, while on vacation prefer quieter places and we just didn't see CG as offering that. During the day we're usually doing very very active things, so relaxing over dinner is a good segway for us into the evening activities.

I LOVE V&A, but it is so TOTALLY different a dining experience then anywhere else on Disney Property and just can't be compared with the CG or YS or any of the other "signature dining" experience available on Disney Property.
