It does get cold in Florida.Pants in Florida?

Oh jeeze. I remember the Christmas holiday of 2018 at WDW. We spent half our time buying warmer, drier clothes at Disney Springs. Came home with fleeces and umbrellas as souvenirs, LOL.It does get cold in Florida.
So there are some lines they draw but they are at the extremes. A polo shirt will be absolutely fine. Try the wonton shortribs appetizer ... delicious! That's formal wear at Disney.Polo shirts are accepted but I wouldn't feel comfortable in one unless I was wearing a jacket over it (but thats just me). Also, I would never consider wearing shorts...jeans or pants and a polo would be fine though.
It was a maybe a few years ago but there was a couple with children at the table next to us at CG and the man was wearing a tank top. They all looked like they had had a full day at the parks. Ever since then I tell people that CG has no dress code.I did have the entertaining experience of seeing a party arrive with a couple of guys in their late teens/early 20's wearing tank tops and that was a no go (thank god). This was a few years back but at the time, California Grill had some long-sleeved button down shirts available to borrow and these guys put the borrowed shirts on (unbuttoned) over their tanks and that was deemed to suffice. To add to the evening's entertainment, on my way to the restroom I saw the host "chasing" them into the elevator to retrieve the borrowed shirts as they were exiting ... I guess they thought they were gifts. So there are some lines they draw but they are at the extremes.
In Florida, in Mexico, in Turks N Caicos, in the Philippines in Haiti....if I am going to a signature/white table cloth, etc meal, I am almost assuredly wearing pants. The last time I wore shorts in an establishment similar to Cali Grill was in Hawaii, before then I was probably 10 years old.Pants in Florida?
Formal wear is formal wear....geography doesn't change that. The dress code allows "dress shorts" (whatever the heck that is) but I just don't feel comfortable in them at a nice restaurant. That's formal wear at Disney.

It’s not a formal affair. No swimsuits or tank tops is about the sum of it lol. People will wear a variety of things, from semiformal to very casual. you will be fine no matter what.Looking forward to going to CG for the very first time!! Just wondering about how strict the dress code is - do polo shirts count as collared?
For myself, usually jeans or pants with a polo or short sleeve button up. The misses will wear jeans and some sort of top. It’s not a formal affair. Over the last few years, they seem to really not worry too much about the dress code except as you noted. We have seen t-shirts and shorts, park wear up to black tie and everything in between.I think you only cross the dress code line by wearing swimwear, excessively ripped or torn clothing, and clothes with offensive graphics or language. Polo shirt is good![]()
It was supposed to be a super funny joke.Formal wear is formal wear....geography doesn't change that. The dress code allows "dress shorts" (whatever the heck that is) but I just don't feel comfortable in them at a nice restaurant.
We do the same.We go every trip. I always dressed up and made the kids dress up. Last few years people wear whatever they want lol. So now the argument is: no one else is dressing up. I don't care! If we are going to a nice place you dress up! (They are all over 18 now LOL!)
