Which would you select for an Anniversary Dinner in November?

Narc.
Or personally I would say Jiko.

For a romantic time, Cal Grill is not it...too many people go there to see
the view and fireworks, thus it's loud and many times screaming kids.

Don't know about Citri.

But Narc is right on the lagoon, view of MK, Good choice.

(but again, to me Jiko is THE place to go for a romantic dinner and a nice stroll after.)

ooooh...I hadn't even though of Jiko! I guess I'll add that to the list of possibilities!

I have only been to Narcoossee's (so far) but we really liked it during Wishes. They dim the lights and pipe in the music. We saw a couple next to us get engaged during Wishes last year--it was very romantic.

To me a lot of it depends on what type of food you are interested in. I would look at the menus before deciding.

Haven't done Narcoosee's so I can't tell you about that.

I don't remember many screaming kids at CA Grill, but I know the first time I was there during the fireworks I actually got teary-eyed it was so awesome. But I'm a sap like that. I tear up at the end of "It's a Wonderful Life" too. No matter how many times I see it.

But you can also go during non-fireworks time. And I've heard there is a separate room at CA Grill that is generally quieter (it has no view of the MK).

I did really enjoy Jiko. Well, what I remember of it. I swear that glass of wine was spiked with Everclear or something!

Thanks for the replies so far everyone. I was thinking I wanted to book either Cali Grill or Narcoossees because of the fireworks. But I was also thinking the observation deck at CG might be pretty cold the beginning of November! Do they do anything at Citrico's with the fireworks?

As far as the type of food, DH and I are pretty adventurous, so that's not really an issue.

Also, the fireworks are at 8pm the night of our anniversary....what time should I be looking at for an ADR?

Thanks all!
Sammy

Narcoosee's and Citrico's are both wonderful, but I think the view of the fireworks over the castle from Narcoosee's would be perfect for an anniversary celebration.

My sister and her husband rave about Jiko, so while I can't comment from experience (going there in October though!), I also trust their opinions.

We had dinner at all three of these places in August.

Citricos has the best food of those three, no question. Also, the atmosphere there is the most adult and quietest. Both Narcoosee's and California Grill were really busy and loud when we were there.

So I'd recommend dinner at Citricos and then walk down to the Grand Floridian grounds and watch the fireworks from the beach or from the area outside Gasparilla's where you'll have an excellent view.

my vote is calli grill. was there for my anniversary in 2007 and my birthday in 2009 and my dh and i had the same waitter both times nomatter what people say here it is a very romantic restaurant. and niether times was loud or there wasn't many kids. the fireworks are absolutly amazing from there choose this one its worth it.

I haven't been to Narcoossee's, but from what I've read it can get quite loud in there, so if you're looking for a quiet, romantic evening that might not be a good choice.

California Grill is amazing, the service is great, and the views are wonderful, but it does get kind of noisy in there.

I would choose Citricos. The food is sooooo good. The service is outstanding, they really make you feel welcomed and special. It is also a lot quieter than the other two places. Citricos also has the added advantage of the fact that it is generally easy to score an ADR here, even if you don't book right when your 90 day window opens.

Do they do anything at Citrico's with the fireworks?

If you want to see the fireworks from the restaurant Citricos really isn't an option. I'm not sure you can see them at all from their windows, let alone have a good view. That said I love this restaurant and can't recommend it highly enough. There's no special view, location or ambiance to speak of (though it is a very pretty restaurant), but the food and service are phenomenal. It's a must do for me every trip. And as someone else mentioned, it's always easy to get an ADR here. So easy in fact, you can pretty much walk up and get a table without one if you arrive before 6:15-6:30. During our last two visits something has come up in the evening and we'll suddenly need to eat earlier than our scheduled ADR. Both times they were able to accommodate our change in time even with little notice.

All four, Narcoossee's, California Grill, Citricos and Jiko are excellent restaurants and you can't go wrong on your special occasion, but for the little extra magic I'd go with Narcoossee's or California Grill to see Wishes. I'd look at the menus to see which you'd enjoy more.

DW and I have been to both many times and enjoy them both immensely. Narcoossee's is our favorite. :thumbsup2

Good luck picking and enjoy!

If you are going adults only for this meal, I would definitely pick Citricos. The food is better, the dining is a bit more sophisticated (but not much here that your children would enjoy). If you are taking your children with you to enjoy this special evening, I would then pick Ca Grill. The views are spectacular, your children will love the views of MK from there. I think the food is better at Jiko than CG but the views from CG are spectacular. Narcoosees is way down on my list; have not been impressed the last few times dining here.

Narcoosees right before wishes it's so romantic they pipe the music in. Don't forget to tell them about your special occasion when you make your reservation, they will give you personalized menues. Or eat dinner before wishes and got to beach w bottle of champane watch sun set and get ready to watch wishes awwwwww..This place rocks

Nope....no kids on this trip! Just me and my honey :lovestruc

Now THAT sounds romantic!!

We have not tried Citricos yet (we have an ADR this Oct.), but LOVE Narcoosees. We have dined there many, many times and have always had great service, great food and a great romantic view of wishes. We have gone to many signature rest. and never experieinced Narcoosees being loud at all !!!!!
We have taken both my parents and DH's parents to Narcoosees on two different occasions and they all fell in love. We also had special menus printed for each set of parents.:thumbsup2

Please do not take glass of any kind to the beach! People often walk barefoot in sand and if the glass gets broken it will be difficult to get it all.

Totally agree on Citricos for exactly the reasons you point out. :thumbsup2

Lovely adult meal first and fire works on the beach after :cloud9:

Oh yeah, I meant to say something else regarding Citricos -
If you make your ADR time early enough, you could walk down to the dock or beach to watch the fireworks afterwards!

So did we, and I agree that Citrico's is the best of the three! :goodvibes
Of course I like Flying Fish even better than Citrico's...:rolleyes1
