California Grill 7:45?

Hi - We have reservations for California Grill at 7:45, should I make them earlier so we can enjoy the fireworks? How long will dinner take? I do not want to rush our dinner, but we would like to enjoy the fireworks. Thanks!

They do have an opening at 7:20.

I think either time would work, if you take the 7:45 you could have dessert after the fireworks

It's a good time if the fireworks are at 9 or 10. Should you be in mid-meal (as often happens) when the fireworks are about to begin, just get up, go out on the platform, watch the show, and then resume the meal. The servers deal with that all the time.

And with drinks, appetizers, the entree and dessert, our meals are usually between and hour and a half to two hours.

And note that as you near fireworks time, you may NOT be seated at exactly 7:45--there could be a wait that varies in duration

Wishes is at 10:00 that night & I have heard people drag out their meals in the evening to be there for wishes. Do you think I will be seated by 8:15 if our reservation is at 7:45?

Hard to say for sure, but most likely.
We've encounterd waits from about 10 minutes up to an hour. A couple of Saturday nights we had reservations for 8 and weren't seated until a bit after 9.
It's rare to actually get seated on time.

If you get there and there is a wait, most likely they'll let you up anyway. Maybe you can find a seat at the bar, or one of the lounge tables while you wait.

But with Wishes at 10, I think a 7:45 reservation will be just fine.

If you are not done with your meal for the fireworks, you can go out and watch them. We ate there Dec '09, and the had our app/main course, ordered dessert, went and watched the fireworks, came back and ate dessert. I think we had a 7:45 pm adr for 9:30 PM fireworks.
