California Dreamin' - I'm back & TR started - UPDATED 14TH OCT

Great picture of Adam as your avitar. My daughter loves him. Wasn't he wonderful lastnight? Sorry for the off topic.:cutie:

I love Adam too :) he is fantastic and been a firm favourite of mine from the auditions, we havent seen the show you guy's got yesterday yet. Infact its on tonight starting in about 5 minutes i think :)

Great pictures. I hope you have as much fun in California. I happen to love it a lot. I have lived here my whole life. But IMHO I live in the pretty part of the state. I live 45 miles from San Francisco.:hippie:

You're so lucky living in California, ive wanted to move there since I was about 12  it just looks such a beautiful place, the ocean looks stunning. We really wanted to visit San Francisco aswell and Yosemite but sadly just didnt have the time to fit them in, but it gives me an excuse to go back :thumbsup2

Oh and the Napa Valley and Lake Tahoe. I have some great pictures on a thread I started months ago of various places in the area of the state that I live in I will find it later and post a link for you. Unfortunately I don't have any of Lake Tahoe but I have San Francisco bay area pictures on it. I want to visit England some day. But, alas no visiting there until my kids are out of school and grown ups. By the way you got the tripod cheaper than we will. It is $25 American. No surprises there.

I went and found it real quick for you.

You guys get American Idol over there? I wish we got more of your shows. The only one I watched was Skins and I LOVED it! It's over now though :sad2:

Love all the DW pics! Where did you guys stay again??

Disney photos part 2

I have also been fortunate to visit Disneyland Paris (my disney dream is to visit every park around the world :))
Me and Darren spent a weekend in Paris in december and both had a lovely weekend, it was nice to just get away and spend some time together just us two away from home. Sadly I was disapointed with Disney, I knew it wasn't going to be like WDW in comparison to the size but I really hoped it would still have the magical feeling, sadly I didn't find it :sad1: (maybe it was just because i wasn't in America :rotfl:) It was so busy, being 2 weeks before christmas and we came across so many rude people, sadly it also put Darren off Disney the last thing I wanted to happen but I did tell him over & over not to imagine WDW to be like this at all, so I still have hope that when we finally get to visit WDW together and Disneyland on this trip he will fall in love with it

Please excuse the mess of me in these photos, it was VERY cold & wet and so you can imagine my hair messed up straight away :headache:

Ooh im surprised usually things are cheaper for you guys, espcially the things I like to buy  I always stock up on makeup when im over, last time i was over we got almost $2 to £1 and it worked out that MAC makeup was half price compared to what we pay :worship:

Thanks for finding that link, going to have a look straight after. I love looking at photos.

I hope you get to visit England then, though i bet you'll just want to get back to California though. I cant imagine England is half as good.

Yep we get AI, its one of my fave shows. We have got all the seasons of it and i've been hooked since the very first one :)

We stayed at The Buena vista palace resort & spa right by downtown disney, it was Wyndham hotel at the time. I have to stay was fantastic, was a really nice hotel and such a great location and as we were on the 25th (i think) floor we had great views too :)

Of I love the rainy weather at Disneyland. When it rains at Disneyland it means the crowds are smaller. I dry off, but I don't have wait it makes ita win win.:goodvibes

It wasn't nice at all as it was soooo cold, and of course raining aswell just made it feel damp on top of the freezing weather. And it didn't make the crwods smaller AT ALL :sad2:

DLP looks so pretty!

It was and i guess thats why i was kind of disapointed as it was so pretty anf could probably be really enjoyed but with the crowds, and i mean HUGE crowds and rude people it just ruined it. You had people pushing infront in ques, pushing past to get infront of you to see the parades, like they were more important or something :headache: they were even knocking little children out the way which is just so rude. plus despite it being non smoking everyone was just smoking everywhere, including in the ques which I hated

Wow. I can tell you that at Disneyland in California smoking has it's areas but smoking is really frowned on in California. I used to smoke so I can tell you there is special areas that it is the only place that it is allowed.

I hate people who act like that! It gets on my nerves to no end and always adds stress to whats supposed to be a fun day  Stupid people piss me off! And the smoking would especially drive me crazy because it makes me sick :headache:

At least DLP is pretty to look at though :confused3:lmao:

I was gonna say that! Smoking is banned everywhere in NY, but there's still a lot of smokers. I've never smoked and the smell of it skeeves me out :scared: But I think 10 people in all of California actually smoke, haha! Maybe it's just a stereotype but I've always though of Cali as being very... health conscious and clean as a whole

Its meant to designated areas in Disneyland Paris too, but most of the people there seems to take no notice and just light up anywhere

I'm glad they actually take note in DL California, the smoking id the only thing that has been putting me of Vegas

No, I don't think so honestly. I smoked for about 20 years and I was raised here. And I see people smoking all the time. Why I ever smoked I'm not sure.

And the smoking will bad in Vegas, as far as I know they still allow smoking in public places like casinos. But it should be fun though.

I hate it too, its just so rude not to have consideration for other people around them, espcially as their are kids abouti I despise smoking around children :rolleyes2

I think it would be even prettier when it was less crowded and warmer as you could really enjoy it more

Glad smoking is banned everywhere in NY, ill enjoy it more when I go there now :) It got banned in public places in England almost 2 years ago now and it was such a relief when they did it, you can actually go to a restaurant now and not have somebody smoking while you are trying to eat  or go to a club/bar and not have to worry about coming out smelling of smoke and with a sore throat, plus I have a lung condition which makes being around smoke even worse so I hardly used to go to bars/clubs because i just didnt want to have an even worse cough than i aready do for days after

Yeah I read smoking is still allowed in the Casinos and bars etc but i really hope it isn't allowed in the restaurants :confused3, thats something i really hate

I don't know about the restaurants. But I am with you on that, it is awful and it can really put you off your meal.

So i probably shouldn't have started this pre trippie so early because i really don't have many plans to share or anything much to update it with at the moment.
Its to early to really make Disney plans because the hours aren't out, although I have made a rough plan already based on the last few years hours and even treid to make a plan for when inside DL (what rides to do when, what fastpasses to get etc) so I will post my basic plans in a bit.

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter weekend :flower3:

I'm in!! I've been to Disneyland a couple times and am so wanting to go back! And how cool you are going to San Diego as well. That's on my list of things to do too. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear more about your plans! It's never too early for a PTR (I think I kind of started mine too early too but hey, gotta share the excitement with somebody!) :wizard:

I was reading from the beginning, like a good TR DIS reader:lmao:, and the smking thing caught my eye. Two years ago, we took a car trip from Cheyenne Wyoming to DL (about 1100 miles). That's when I quit smoking. It was a lot easier for me to quit this way because we were in the car with the kids. I never smoked in the house or in the car. Well, won't bore you with the withdrawl tantrums and snapping at anybody that tried to speak to me. When we got to California, which is slowly becoming smoke free (if you get the chance go to DelMar, a totally smoke free town) I knew I could do it, because I didn't smell it and I was finally to the point of when I did, I gagged!! Pweww!! Any-who, sorry rambling....What I noticed and I not only thought it was hysterical but also humilating was that the "designating smoking section" of the parks were usually in a 10x10 box complete with a line painted around it to mark off the boudry!! Hysterical because, here are these grown adults puffing away in box marked by a line. Humiliating, beacause here are these grown adults puffing away in a box marked by a line. So, glad I don't smoke anymore just so I don't have to stand in a box to puff away!!!

OK, that being said....San Diego is an awesome place. My DH and I's old stomping ground before he was transferred here to Wyoming by the Air Force. The Gaslamp District is a blast. Good restuarants and awesome bars with live music!! The Horton Plaza (big huge outdoor shopping mall) validates parking so you can spend some time downtown. Sea Port Village (also in the downtown area) has some great eateries and it's a nice place to take a walk when the sun is setting. It's right on the bay. Coronado Island is beautiful. The bridge that takes you over is awesome and the hotel is historically grand. Look it up on the net. If you have any questions just ask away.
