California Adventures closing early?

I noticed that on August 25th and 27th California Adventures is closing early at 9 PM for a special ticketed event.

Does anyone know what event?

Interesting. Our WOC dessert party package was recently moved to an earlier time on the 25th and I wondered if they'd be announcing something.

When looking at the entertainment schedule they do show WOC for 10:30 and 12:45 am, but park closes at 9

8/27 is CHOC Adventure in the Park, the 30th anniversary celebration of this annual fundraiser for Children's Hospital of Orange County.

We have WOC Dessert Party reservations for Saturday September 3 for the second show at 9:15, so I was expecting DCA’s hours to be adjusted to a 9pm close. The second show is always just after park close, yes?

Yes, generally the second WOC is right after park close. But 9:15 is when you should arrive for the Dessert Party, not show time. The 9:15 check in is standard for the 10:15 WOC showtime.

FWIW, here's what I got from Disney:
We have received your World of Color Dessert Package reservation for Monday, August 25th. Due to changes in our entertainment schedule, World of Color will now be showing at 8:15pm which will push your reservation check-in time up to 7:15pm.
