This will be our first time staying at the Grand Californian and we were wondering how the whole entry process actually works. What exactly will we need to show the CM to enter California Adventure - just our tickets/APs and room key? (Some people in our group will have APs and some will just have Park Hoppers.)

TIA!:goodvibes

As long as you have your room key, you'll be fine. Don't think that every member of your party needs a room key. Some days there was quite a line, waiting for them to open up, other days, not so much. I would think with the new ride opening, that I'd get there 1/2 hour ahead of opening (if you want to be among the first into the Park.)

Thanks for the info! You brought up a couple of more questions...
Do the room keys have guest's names on them?
Do they let you into the park at 9:30 or 10:00?

Thanks again!!!:)

Yes, our room keys had our names on them (I presume since we could charge using them.)

If the Park opened at 10 AM, we were let into the Park at 9:30. They held us at a certain point until 10 AM - not sure if that is how they're doing it this summer. Some people ran to TSMM, some to the WoC fastpass machine - now some will be running to Little Mermaid. Should be interesting.

Got it! Thanks for the help, Julie!!!

My wife and I are planning our first trip to the Disneyland Resort together for late this summer.

We are staying part of the week at the Disneyland Hotel and part of the week at the Grand Californian in a 1BR Villa - we are so excited!

I visited Disneyland for the first time in February while I was on the west coast for work - I went again a few times during a week in March when I was out there for work again. I had so much fun - that my wife decided she wanted to go too.... Imagine that! HAHA :lmao:

So we are spending 8 nights total - and we have 2 nights that we have yet to book anywhere, we are waiting on a DVC waitlist to come through at the VGC - so we may end up spending all 8 nights at Disneyland - or we might end up going elsewhere for our last two nights. (San Diego possibly - or Hollywood)

Any trip planning suggesting for Disneyland? Any must visit restaurants at the DLR?

Advice?
