California Adventure Construction

Hello!

So Im an avid Disney fan and I was looking to go with my sister at the end of August. I've heard about the construction and I was wondering if anyone could give me information about how much of california adventure does this actually affect. For example will we be able to ride tower of terror and california screamin and the other rides? If it would not be advisable to go at this time someone please tell me haha, I dont want to spend money if all of california adventure is shut down.

The only thing it should effect is no Parade. That's not for sure but likely. Also the entrance may be under a lot of construction or even rerouted. All the rides will be operating normally.

By then most of the construction walls around paradise pier will be down but the main entrance and the former sunshine plaza will probably still be under construction. I went in March and really didn't have any issues to speak of cause by the construction and I was still able to ride everything I wanted to(ToT, ca screamin, etc).

Welcome to the boards. In August, the crowds will be more of a factor than the construction. Let us know what you think of the new Little Mermaid ride.

We were there a week ago, we had no problems riding any rides we wanted to ride. The construction does not impact open rides.

We are possibly going to DLR this summer and I'd like to have an idea of what to expect. We were there last during the WOC construction so I'm fine with whatever is being done, I was just wondering about what's going on now and what will be happening this summer.

There is but nothing official.

The front entrance is changing with new gates. The Entrance seat is going to change. No idea when but possibly soon but more likely not until the Fall. So at some point all of those stores will have to close. Bountiful Farm area, that had a little retail and food is gone. The plaze with the sunwheel is gone. For summer nothing else will be impacted. New dining is opening at the west end of paradise pier. Carsland is going up behind walls, but is mostly built in an area that wasn't part of the park so it won't impact you experience until it opens in a year.

Crowds in general get better around that time. However their can be a quick rush from Labor Day crowds, and when huge numbers of Annual Passholders have thier blackout period end.

Also some of the contruction I mentioned may make the entry to DCA awkward, but not painful.

Also be aware rehabs start at that time and specifically in DL Haunted Mansion goes down in the beginning of September, Space Mountain goes down after Larbor day for Halloween layovers.

I just read over that thread you posted, and I saw at the bottom that there is a rumored change to Soarin' Over California possible?? I'd be surprised if they'd do that seeing as it's one of the most popular attractions in all of DLR, but I think the concept of Soarin' Over the World would be pretty fun

Just my two cents

I think this rumor is mostly based on Epcot that also has Soarin, but doesn't fit as well and the rumor comes up that they will drop California and make a Soarin over the World film.

But like you say it's still super popular and in Epcot the most popular ride by far, so why mess with it.
