Hi, We will be visiting my sister in Aug and I talked my husband into flying out of LAX airport so we could check out CA. We will only be there one day.(A Thursday in Aug.) I know that this park closes earlier then DL, how crowded will it be at this time of the year. Does anyone have any advice or great web pages to help me plan our day. Thanks so much. I am so excited I can hardly wait. Gina:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

In August it will be crowded, though they do limit the amount of people in DCA to around 30,000 (though this number doesn't include hotel guests and AP holders who get in regardless even if the park is full). My biggest piece of advise--be at the gates more than a half hour before opening. Like a lot of Disney parks, they let people into DCA 30 minutes before the scheduled opening and what some people don't know, Soarin' Over CA is open and running at this point. You have to go to the main gate for this perk, though. The entrances from the GC and PP hotels won't let you in until the scheduled opening. You can often ride Soarin' twice in a row (you'll have to exit and get back in line) before the rest of the park opens (to tell if this is possible, if a line hasn't formed outside the building and it's around 9:45, you are probably good for another ride). By opening time, be at the rope by GRR (take a right out of Soarin') then make a beeline for CA Screamin' in the back of the park (bypass GRR at this point). Again, by doing this, you can ride Screamin' probably a number of times before the line gets too long. Another tip--Soarin', GRR and the Maliboomer all have single rider lines. So long as you don't mind spliiting your party up and everyone is at least 7, this will get you on the rides so much faster. To go single at Soarin' and GRR, ask a CM at the main entrance for a singles pass. Then at Soarin', they'll send you down the fastpass side and when you get to the end of the Wings of Fame Gallery, the CM there will put you into a separate line. For GRR, they'll give you a pass and send you up the exit. Maliboomer has it's own special line--as you reach the main entrance to the line, head to the left near the tall fence (there's a sign in that fence saying "Single RIder Entrance").
