Cali Grill - seats with a view never available?

True. Your culinary experience will overlook the magnificent Magic Kingdom park. But it doesn't say your culinary experience includes a window table.
If you read any of my other posts you would know I am not expecting or looking for a window table

And there are a number of two tops with one seat facing a wall. And you cannot just tell the hostess. If you are not satisfied with your table you are apparently out of luck. No waiting for another. The unfortunate souls who get a table with no view should suck it up for the good of the Disney seating process

At night not the biggest deal. It is dark and you can go outside and watch fireworks. For brunch not the same.

We have a party of 8 for 25 wedding anniversary and 21st bday. Is there a certain area that a table of eight would be.
I hope they don't just pull together four of the two tables
I don't think they would line you up against the wall area, it would be too hard to get in and out. I've been to CG about 6 times. The big parties I see are usually all the way to the right when you walk in- they pull smaller tables together. The one request I would make is not to be seated in the wine room. I said that last time at the first podium I checked into last week, on the second floor, and she told me that they don't usually put big parties in there. We were a party of 5.

Here's an idea: if you are seated at a two top facing the wall, maybe switch places halfway through so each person gets to see.

On our last visit, my party of 5 was seated at a round table near, but not directly adjacent, to the windows. Two people could not really see outside without turning around. We had our guest sit in the best view seat, and the rest of us made do. Everyone can not be facing the view or it would be like a movie theater. We looked at the view before we sat down, I turned around several times during the meal, and we went outside for wishes. In between those times we were busy talking and eating, so I really did not feel deprived.

Last August I was seated at a window table. My back was to the window. Who knew I was supposed to be upset by my lack of view? I was there to enjoy the food and companionship. :confused3

Like I do--I sit at the bar but if I want a "view" I just turn around and look!!

I think it really just depends on timing and luck. I've dined there 4/5x and have never not been sat right next to a window. I think it also depends on how many people are there with celebrations. Lots of factors.

Last week while celebrating our anniversary our party of 4 got seated at 9:30 at a prime window table - and sudden thunderstorms canceled the fireworks. Such is life. They said we could come back another night with our receipt to watch on their deck, but the next time we found such a nice viewing spot in the Magic Kingdom we didn't bother. Still we enjoyed a lovely dinner at the California Grill.
