Cali grill or narcooses please help me decide

Both of these restaurants are noisy and full of kids. I'd look at the menus and decide which food options appeal to you. We prefer CG because of the sushi and we go very late, after fireworks, whenever possible, so that it isn't so chaotic.

I agree - if you want quiet and romantic, definitely eat early or way after the fireworks.

If you eat early at CA Grill, they will let you come back up later that evening to watch fireworks from the viewing platform. We've had romantic meals at both places, but the food has always been much better at CA Grill - we've pretty much crossed Narcoossee's off our list...

I really love Citricos (in The Grand Floridian). The food is similar to California Grill (minus the Sushi selections), but Citricos is a lot quieter and easier to get an ADR at. If you schedule your meal early enough, you could then walk down to the dock to watch the fireworks. The staff at Citricos is AMAZING and would make your anniversary very special!

Haven't been to Citrico's yet but it's on our list to try. Between Cali Grill and Narcoosee's we prefer Narcoosee's. It's not as big and busy as the Cali Grill and in our opinion we've been more impressed with the food there. (We were at both restaurants for dinner two weeks ago.)

Yes, you can. The view is halfway decent, not as good as the Cali grill though. They turn down the lighting and pipe in music if I'm not mistaken.

We WAY prefer Narcoosses. We think the ambiance is much better and a bit less hectic. I wasn't really impressed with the fireworks from Cali because it is not over the castle and it just looks a bit off to me. So I wouldn't choose Cali based on the fireworks. We absolutely LOVED the food at Narcoosses. We liked the food at Cali, but Narcoossees was better for us as we love seafood.

I have been to both and prefer Narcoossee's. Yes, Narcoossee's is a little more noisy (I'm guessing because of the way the restaurant was built, especially the floors), but my family thought the food was a bit over-rated at CG.

Both had really great service and views of the fireworks. Both menus are filled with variety, and both restaurants provide a wonderful setting, but we just liked Narcoossee's more the CG. I must admit, we enjoy seafood which gives Narcoossee's an edge over any other signature restaurant...we have dined at most of them on property and still make Narcoossee's THE restaurant that is a must do for every trip.

IMHO, the view of the fireworks is very good at Narcoossee's. It is across the lake, but still not too far away to enjoy. They pipe in the Wishes music, both inside the restaurant and on the deck outside. Also, we love to watch the Electric Water Pagent that comes around as well (usually after the fireworks). Seeing the fireworks from CG is nice because your closer, but overall we found viewing them from Narcoossee's more relaxing.

I doubt you'll be disappointed with either restaurant you choose. Good luck and have a great trip!

We much prefer Narcoossees. We had a better server, better food and better experience. While the view from CG is closer, it is to the side of the castle. The view from Narcoossees, while not dead center, is more centered (the fireworks over the castle).

And I am not a seafood eater at all. I had the filet mignon (and I'm generally not a steak eater either--but it was melt-in-your-mouth good). Also, the almond crusted cheesecake is SO delicious! Oh my!!!

Boy, after this great feedback I'm really leaning to Narcoossees (how do you pronounce it???) I'm thinking (maybe wishfully) that the kids may want to do a food court/pool evening (they are 15 and 12) and DH and I can do Narcoossees. I just don't think the menu will appeal to them. If so then we can all do CG for Christmas Day. Thanks to all for all the great advice. I posted a thread asking for the same info ie: CG vs Narcoossees which got no responses but this thread has all the answers I need!
