For all you Cali Grill enthusiasts...which would you rather eat as your entree, the oak-fired filet or the veal tenderloin?

Or has anyone gone a totally different way and done the duck (and liked it)?

Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

I personally don't like the filet from there, I find the sauce too strong, but DH does really enjoy it. I've loved the pork tenderloin with the goat cheese polenta, and this last trip I had the duck and it was fantastic! If you like duck, I would definitely recommend that, there are so many places that you can get a good filet but it's harder to find duck on a menu. Have a great time!

I don't eat veal so haven't tried that one. I liked the duck better than the filet. My filet was over cooked twice. I gave up after returning it once and getting it back still over cooked. The duck was not the best I've ever had but it was nice.

ITA - the last times we ate at Cali Grill (I love my beef - eat it as much as I can!) but decided it wasnt worth the extra $10 went with the pork I believe) It was so delicious - I was blown away!

The cast iron seared veal tenderloin wasn't on the menu when we were there 9/29. I forget what replaced it, but it was still cast iron seared. I got the oak fired filet, but with the sauce on the side. It made all the difference. That sauce is strong! DH hated his filet because of it.

Neither. I always get one of their more seasonal offerings. You can get a steak at any signature, and I think it's always the least exciting thing on the menu.

Last time I had Seared Snapper with Fig Risotto, Forest Mushrooms and Pinot Noir Reduction. Another time I had Ostrich Filet with Sweet Potato Gnocchi, Wild Mushrooms, and some sort of berry sauce, just to name a couple.

The steak is good though. Not outstanding, but a good steak if it's what you're craving.

I also believe that the best choice is whatever is seasonal...a filet is just a filet...no Disney magic for sure.

The veal was excellent. Good enough to tempt me to order it next time instead of my usual meal of sushi app & sushi entree. Like others, I found the sauce on the filet a bit overpowering, so I'd give the veal the edge as the better dish overall.

My all-time favorite entree there was the ostrich filet which hasn't been on the menu in quite some time. That was simply heavenly. The signature pork dish is excellent as well, right up there with the veal.

I would rather the veal..I am not a fan of Cali Grill's filet although DH loves it, with the sauce on the side, and orders it every time we eat there

I just got back from dinner there last week - the pork is a must get for me each and every trip.
