Cali Grill Alternate Sides?

Has anyone had luck requesting a past side or an alternate side for the steak at CG? I don't think I would like the tomato risotto and really enjoyed a potato with vegetables side I have had in the past there on an old menu. Think they can make just some mashed potatoes or something?

You'll probably be fine if it's available on the menu with a different dish but if you want mash and there is no mash listed on the menu don't hold your breath.

Exactly this. I have never had an issue substituting sides, as long as the side I wanted was available elsewhere on the menu.

I agree with the others. If it is available as a side on another dish you can substitute it with your steak. But to even think that they would cook something not even on the current menu just for you is not even reasonable.

We ate there last month and I just told my server that I didn’t like tomatoes and what other choices were there. She suggested mashed potatoes and green beans. They were delicious.

The last time we ate at CG, my DD requested mashed potatoes as a side because she has food allergies. I don't think they were elsewhere on the menu but they told her they could do it, and were very gracious with the request. However, unfortunately, they were awful! It was so disappointing because we expected some deliciousness! They were lumpy, tasteless and obviously thrown together~ no love. Everything else was very good though!
