We dined at CG last September for my parent's 40th. We (adults LOVED the food) I've got a picky 13yo son, and I asked if the kid's menu items were an option even if we'd pay adult prices and got a very stern "no" from the waiter. So, he ordered the most basic of adult flat breads (pizza) and predictably hated the spices (sundried tomatoes and icky green chunks they are!) and wouldn't eat. So, waiter took the pizza back twice till the chef finally had enough of the gormet version out of the dish and we ended up with basically the kid's version. Hey, I warned the waiter.
My guess is they will say no if you ask, so I'd be prepared to discuss whatever you order asking about exactly how the dish is prepared and served and ask them to leave out anything you don't like. Explain that you are nervous about ordering something you might not like and will be sending it back if it is to "out there" for you. The adult free range chicken breast sounds pretty "normal".
By the way, my parents had the halibut and loved it. I had the fillet--it was excellent as were the green beans (haricort vert means french green beans extra yummy) they were served with. Heirloom tomatoes were awesome. It's the one place everyone (except my son) wants to go back to!
Don't hesitate to ask the waiter questions and you should be fine, the food is awesome.
