Here we go again for our next trip planning :yay::yay: this trip is a bit different as this is our honeymoon trip, so we are making every effort to make extra details more relevant and fun than any other trip we have made.

We are planning some of the final details of our wedding in August. We are about 3 months away and very excited! We have done the trip down(driving) to the states twice in the past(we used to fly but realized how much money we could save by driving instead). One trip was going thru San Francisco and did the Pacific Coast HWY(played tourist in San Fran, went to Apple headquarters of course, Pier 39 and and Alcatraz). We did the other trip driving down thru Salt Lake and Vegas, then across to Anaheim.

What I would like is for us to make the trip with pit stops along the way of MUST DO or MUST EXPERIENCE things. It makes the trip that much more fun and that much more exciting.

I request everyone's help with things they have done, or things they have heard of to help them make that road trip that much more fun.:moped:

Thanks for the time to response, muchly appreciated!

Oh sounds like fun we would like to do this in a few years with the kids. For now we fly!LOL

YAY on getting the wedding stuff done!

Thank you! it's been a pain in the rear end. Im not a big wedding planner, and it would be a lie to say Im looking more forwards to the honeymoon with my HUSBAND than the wedding itself. Don't like attention so I've never been a big fan of those type of situations.:goodvibes

Contact AMA. You can also do a AMA Triptik online. Friends of ours always drive down and go through Las Vegas. It takes about 22 hours. I keep saying I am going to do it but I fear I may eat my young (not so young anymore but still 18, 16 and 9)the risk is there;)

Oh, exciting!

We are making the drive down from Okotoks to Anaheim in just a few weeks. We leave June 29, right after school finishes. Going the Salt Lake/Vegas route, eight days in Anaheim and five in Vegas on the way back. With six of us (DH and I, our three and my niece) flying would be prohibitively expensive - best prices I could find, on seat sales even, would still be well over $3600. And this way we can bring more with....

I cannot believe the cost! That's crazy! For us it was $1200 instead of 300 for gas.

Hope you guys had a great trip. We are heading out next week!

We've done the coastal drive and the Salt Lake/Las Vegas route but the last time we drove, we went through the middle. You've probably already seen the rockies but if you can come over to B.C. and then head south on highway 97, there are lots of things to see. There's a little town in Northern Washington called Leavenworth that's modeled after a Bavarian village. Even the McDonald's has the 'look'. There's also the Columbia Dam, a petrified forest, Crater Lake in Oregon (allow lots of time to see it), and windmill farms near the Oregon/Washington border. We didn't look for it last trip but one year we found a Dairy Queen decorated with moose heads, etc. It was like walking onto a movie set. :) I think it was in Northern California.

Good luck and have fun!
