Has anyone stayed in this community before?
How long is the drive from the parks?
Is it a gated community?
Pro's/con's?

Anyone?

Which Calaby Parc are you looking at .One is on HWY27 the other is down past the I4 and is Calabay Parc at Tower Lakes.
The one on 27 is a nice community with good sized homes easy access to 192 and I4 and the Champions gate area.It is not gated but I wouldn't let that worry me unduly .
The one at Tower Lakes is newer but further out -it is gated but has had some break-ins recently.

It's the one on HWY27.

Unfortunately we had a home booked in Windsor Palms, but the owner double booked. :sad1: They have offered an alternate solution, that being a home in Calabay Parc.

IMO you have done very well if you are going there now then.It should be about a 10-15+/- min drive depending on where you are going and the route you take as you can either go Champions gate -I4 to the parks area or 27 192 and Sherberth Road. There is a Publix supermarket and applebees plus a few other eating places at Berry Town Centre just a bit north of you and you are only a couple of miles south of a super wal mart at Cagan Crossings. You are also close to Posner Park the new shopping complex at I-4 and the new Rolling Oaks commons on 192 near to the 429 where there is a super Target ,Olive garden and Longhorn steak house.

Thanks for the feedback JANNYANS.

My main concern is the distance, I would guess it's 15-20 minutes from the parks... not sure of actual miles.

I've read a few threads (did a search) where some felt the distance was too great. It's just hard to tell when we've never been to that area before, or by looking at a map.

I would say it is about 10 miles -my home is 8.1 from the edge of disney land and it is only about 1 mile up the road from CP-of course the area of disney itself is so vast it does depend on where you are coming from each park will be a different distance. To be honest when I have stayed onsite it has taken longer to get a bus within the disney grounds to get to my hotel that is ever has done to get back to a house on 27 even google which takes you the long way round say 15 miles so by going through championsgate to the i-4 if that's the way you want to go you will cut that down .

This came directly from the owner...

To get to the MK parking lot, it's 17 miles.
To get to AK, it's 11 miles.

Granted we're not traveling during a busy time, my kids are still young and can't do a full day at the parks. So this would make going back to the home for a mid-day break difficult.

Hmmm? We'll have to think about this a bit longer... :headache:

That's is about right distance wise I expect he suggests using Champions gate.Pity if you can't go there it is a lovely community .

Well we decided that Calabay Parc just wasn't for us, not with two young children anyways. So we're renting from the same owners we used last year at Windsor Hills.
