Does anyone have or know where I can find recipes for cake pops/cake balls? I need to bring dessert to my sister in laws in a few weeks and thought these would be really fun to bring in a few different varieties.

We have tasted several cake pops at parties and such. They are extremely popular right now. We picked some up at a local restaurant that carried them as a dessert. They were absolutely the best tasting cake pops we have ever tried. The vendor was Pops By Ivy that supplies them with it. They have a website and even discovered she makes Mickey and Minnie and Nightmare Before Christmas ones!

Here is her website

She also has a facebook book page that she updates regularly with new creations. Simply amazing. I don't think they ship so you need to be local but they are absolutely incredible. We tried making some and gave up, tough work!

Basically, bake a cake (either from scratch or by mix), then crumble it up and mix it with frosting (from scratch or canned) and form into balls. Melt chocolate or candy coating, and if you want to make pops, dip the tip of the stick into the chocolate/candy coating, then insert into the cake ball, then dip the entire cake ball. Insert into styrofoam so they can dry upright. For cake truffles, just dip the ball into the coating (using a spoon) and let dry on wax paper. If you are ambitious, decorate!
