Cake from Wholefoods?

OT, but has anyone every had a cake from Wholefoods supermarket?

Yes, and they're amazing. Now we do buy from their flagship store in Austin headquarters, and that bakery is just flat out the best of the best, but in general the quality is incredible...and I can pronounce/recognize everything on the ingredients list My favorite is their Chantilly Cream Cake. It is white cake, chantilly cream frosting (sort of like cream cheese frosting, but richer, less tart) with a middle layer of frosting and fresh fruit (blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries). Funny combination of really rich but refreshing. But honestly, I've never had a bad cake there. They are more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Delicious, but very rich. If we can't choose a single cake, we buy a few cupcakes and split them. They are all so good.

There was one cake that my local Whole Foods carried that was called a Malted Milk Ball cake. It was amazing! I haven't seen it for awhile, which is maybe a good thing! ;-)

YEs and they are amazing. Love the Berry Chantilly.
We always used one bakery here in town our fav cake was 50.00 ish.

Discovered Whole Food cakes, cheaper by quite and much better!! Def. not as inexpensive as Walmart.. but you cant compare the two.

Whole Foods cakes and desserts are our favorite!
You can request a sample of things you would like to try if you are not sure, too. We did this for a special occasion, and they were great about it.

Of course there always has to be one negative post and unfortunately it is mine. I love their desserts but the cakes (tried twice) were not great. We just got their basic chocolate and they both were dry. But in general I love their bakery. Maybe we just were there on an off day?

Thank you all for your responses. I was there this past weekend and samples the white cake with buttercream frosting and loved it. I was looking at their cake designs and before I ordered I wanted to ask around. My daughters baptism is coming up and I decided to order a sheet after reading everyones responses. We decided on your basic yellow cake with fresh berries in the middle, buttercream icing. White with pink flowers and a pink cross in the middle. I ordered cupcakes for all the little kids. I am so excited!
