I was looking through Carries book and saw there are quite a few choices for cake flavors...but I know they don't bring them all out too you. What are the standard flavors for the PS? Thanks!

ooo ooo. i just emailed my planner this question this morning! Here is her answer:
"The cake tasting consist of the following cake flavors - Yellow, Almond, Chocolate, & Marble. The fillings or mousses are - Bavarian Cream, Amaretto, Baileys, Raspberry, Dark Chocolate, White Chocolate, Tropical Mousse, & Butter Cream."
As for substituting, she said, "The Grand Floridian Bakery makes all the cakes and mousses from scratch in "bulk" so it is difficult to make a small amount of each for a tasting. However, if they have a couple that has ordered a Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese in and round the area of the cake tasting, then they will be able to accommodate the request."

so hope this helps! :flower3:

does nayone have any photos of the insides of the cakes?

like photos of the mousse and sponge? I want to see what they all look like?

I wish i could go for a PS.. .and go cake and food tasting!!

I could go to your cake and food tasting for you Stacey and then send you all the pics with my reviews:lmao: I'll be there in April!

I know we were able to request the orange cake, lemon cake, and orange mousse fillings for our tasting. We asked, and they said it wouldn't be a problem. I'm glad, too. The orange cake, and orange mousse were awesome and ended up being our middle tier. :thumbsup2

Was that from the GF bakery or the Boardwalk bakery? It sounds delicious!:thumbsup2

The lemon cake was good, but we liked the orange/orange mousse combination better.

And it's VERY hard to decide! The bailey's mousse and mocha mousse were both in the running for our chocolate cake layer, but we ended up going with the whit chocolate mousse instead.

It was all SO yummy!

Our cake tasting happened at Franck's so I assume it was from the Grand Floridian. Plus, I think our cake was made at the GF despite our ADH reception location. I seem to remember hearing that all wedding cakes were made that the Grand now. Not sure if that's correct, however.

MMMM!! I recognise that photo.....

That tray looks tasty..!!!!!

I remember reading through all your pj! You two made me laugh so much (the body in the freezer :lmao: !! one of many things that made me laugh!)

All wedding cakes except some of the Escape cakes are made at the Grand Floridian. :thumbsup2

We were able to completely customize the flavors we tried cuz I didn't want anything fruity or liqueur-flavored - there was no problem. If it's a big deal to you, definitely ask!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't remember anything about a body in a freezer, though. Sounds like something wallyb must've said. That thread got hijacked more times than it's possible to count! :rotfl:

Carrie! That doesn't look like enough flavors! I'd go back and demand a re-tasting! :rotfl2:

By golly, you're right!!! I'll be on the next plane to Orlando... :rotfl:

(Actually, those were the only fillings they had that weren't fruity or liqueury, so we didn't get to try the full 8... although I *guess* I coulda asked for some fruity ones just for DH to try...:rolleyes1)

I think you and I should try and get them to let us do a "research" tasting the next time you and your DH are here. <Evil Grin> That way you'll have loads of info for you book, and we can give a "local's perspecive":lmao:
