Cake Box Question and Small Wedding Question

Hi there,

I am getting married in September and only having about 30 guests. We will probably get married around 1 pm... and then come back to the party room at our Condo for the "reception".

I'm wondering what to do about food, I don't want a full blown meal, DF doesn't want just cake and champagne... anyone else with the same kinda wedding? Any suggestions?

Also, I am in love with the tiny wedding cakes available at Disney and would love something like that for each of my guests. I imagine a local bakery could do it. I have never seen cake boxes used but wonder if it would be appropriate to use this almost like a favour... mini cakes in cake boxes... again... suggestions???

You could do an all dessert reception. Like a dessert buffet with a chocolate fouantain or something. It doesn't have to be elaborate or expensive. Or you could do just finger foods, a bbq, deli trays, or even potluck if it's just a small family affair.

As for the mini cakes as favors I think it's a great idea. Something unique. Check with some bakeries first though before you get to set on the idea the cost may suprise you.

If you are having 30 guests, then you will need to go custom. Since you need to spend at least $75 per person in catering, you may have to serve lunch or a very elaborate dessert party.

I don't think the OP is getting married at Disney. She is only going to Disney for her honeymoon.

I think if you took a picture of the mini Disney wedding cake to a baker in your area, they could probably duplicate it pretty easily for you! Melissa is right though, the cost may be prohibitive.
