Cake Boss and my hometown

I was just up there walking by. The line is down the next block and people are in the back ally sitting there waiting to see if anyone comes out to get a picture. I find it funny cause I have lived here all my life and have been in the bakery plenty of times. To me he is just Buddy and it's funny to see all of these people just waiting for a picture.

As far as the cake, it is the only thing she wants so I will get it for her. She loves the show but has never been in the store. I would love to take her but no way I am standing in line.

My dd also loves the CakeBoss and we went by there on our way to the city at about 11am and the line went down the street and around the corner :scared1:. We would have waited but we didn’t have enough time that day. On Saturday Aug 8th we are going to the intrepid museum then to Hoboken for dinner, does anyone know when they stop letting people get on line before they close?? We are hoping to get in there before dinner and I believe they close at 7:30 but I am sure they have to stop the line at some point??
:goodvibes

I've gone but always before noon and there hasn't been a line or anything - my family absolutely love his canoli's & pastries from there. My DD12 got her birthday cake from there and was giving everyone small pieces because she loved it so much :lmao:

We saw it last night too! I wasn't really paying attention but my DS9 said "mom, Buddy's down at the field, look mom, that's our field." I glanced at the TV quickly and said, "no it's not, I think I heard them say Jersey City not Little Ferry" . DS9 then went into the other room where DH was watching the Yankee game and all of a sudden I hear DH say "holy cr*p, that's Little Ferry". I was really surprised because I had no idea Buddy grew up in Little Ferry. DH cam in the bedroom and took his HS year book out of the bookcase to see if Buddy or his sisters were anywhere in there but, they weren't. Maybe they didn't go to R.P. HS or DH is just much older than they are (DH graduated in 1988).

Buddy's family (the Valastros) lived on Mariani Drive$$$, DH grew up on the other side of Little Ferry a nice house on a nice street but, definatley not Mariani Drive.

Hey there!! I found out that he was from little ferry about a month or so ago when they gave him the key... a friends DD sang at the ceremony.. too bad they did not show her... (i found out after the fact)

They went to the HS on the show and he said it looked the same.. so I think he did attend... lived in LF for 22 years (i think that is what he said)
I think he is in his mid 30's.

BTW I have a DD8 so we probably know each other!!! :rotfl:

My son lives nearby and got me the awesome signature cannoli cream puff cake for my birthday last year. He was annoyed standing in the long line. Then Buddy came out and a slew of people got out of line to take pictures with him. Mary previously helped him pick out the cake and promised that I'd love it, which I did. She also asked if he watched the show, which he never has, and made him promise to watch it - lol! This year he's buying my niece's Sweet 16 cake. He was told that he does not have to wait in the line for a previously ordered cake. I went in June, and bought $180 worth of "things" including shirts and mugs. It IS expensive. The lobster tails are absolutely amazing. So are the red velvet cupcakes. I saw Remy and Madeline. They were filming that day, so camera men were around too.

I watched that episode last night!!! I love that show, I like it better then Fabulous Cakes or Ace of Cakes actually. :) I thought that was super cool, that he got the key to the city. :)
