Part 13 Wednesday, August 4, 2004 E-night #2
WE met up with Larry and the girls after getting our wristbands at Town Hall. First on our agenda was Buzz Lightyear. As usual had a great time. We stayed in the Tomorrowland area and some folks rode Space Mountain while some continued to ride Buzz. One of the best ride photos I have from this trip is of Chris and Larry on Buzz. They were so into shooting that it shows in the picture. After everyone had enough of Tomorrowland, we headed over to Frontierland for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (BTMRR) and Splash Mountain. When we got to the front of BTMRR we ran into the boys friends dad. Their friend was on BTMRR, so when we exited, they met up with E (their friend) and rode BTMRR again. By this time it was getting really late (we had a late start), so we knew we needed to head to Splash for our traditional end of e-night ride! E decided to join us, but his parents and his sister wanted to wait on dry ground. (So did Rachel) So the gang walks up the long ramp (it seems like it goes on forever when there is no one in line). We ride Splash, which we find out is a first for E. The boys of course are in the front seat, Larry and Suzanne in the second row, Valerie in row 3 and I am bringing up the rear. The boys quickly tell E about taking a picture as we go down the big drop. I told them that I would purchase the ride pic for them. So as we go down the big drop E is looking all over to try to spot the camera. Needless to say when we saw the picture, we didnt like it, so we literally RAN around to ride it again. AS we get to the front of the ride the CM has one of the double doors closed, but he lets us in, so we RAN up the ramp and literally get the last log on Splash for the night. Well, the pic still wasnt great, but we decide to purchase it anyway. They said the picture would be ready in fast (Since no one else was there by this time), so we waited for it. By the time we got them, we were the very last people in Frontierland. As we walked to the front of the park, people on walkie talkies were following us. We ran into a CM (looked like a manager of some sort) that had a lanyard on her neck and two in her hand. So, of course we had to stop and do some pin trading with her. As we came around the castle, they were actually already mowing the lawn in that area. I saw one other non CM person on the entire walk out of the park. We stopped and traded pins with a few other CMs. By the time we made to the front gates, we realized that we had CLOSED DOWN MK! When we made it to the top of the monorail ramp, the CMs in that area let out a yell of JOY because they had been radioed that we were the last guest out of the park for the night, and they could go home. That was a really unique experience for us! A memory to last a lifetime. (the sights, smells and sounds of an empty Main Street USA!)
