Ok silly question but, I know that BB the split charge gives you the gumbo/salad and sides per each one, and you can opt not to do this and just ask for a spare plate.
So what's the deal in Cafe Orleans? I'm looking at the menu and says "Split Plate Charge $4 usd" :confused3

I'd like to know this also. And for the blue Bayou how much is the split plate charge??

In BB it's $12 usd. But it kind of make sense there, I don't understand it here... I have to say I want to try both, but I don't see my kids sharing a Monte Cristo twice.

My daughter and I split regularly, but we each also order a salad or soup. We have never been charged a split plate fee.

I think the general rule is: if you just request an extra plate and you do the splitting yourself, there's no charge. If you have the kitchen split the entree and you get two sets of sides, there's a charge.

At Cafe Orleans, its for the plate and some grapes, strawberries, and the jam, is the 4 dollars worth, for them to do it in the kitchen, with extra of the "sides". If you ask for a plate they give you a plate and you can seperate it at the table with no charge.
At BB it is for either the soup, salad, sides, and the plate.

So at Blue Bayou if I order a Monte Cristo for DS and I get a salad and ask for an extra plate we won't be charged extra??

At BB the MC comes with a salad or cup of soup, it also comes with a side of amazingly yummylicious potatoes and some type of veggie, the veggie can change from visit to visit. If you pay the $12 split plate fee at BB you get another set of full sides and another soup or salad. You can't just get a salad at BB ala cart, they don't offer that. If your DS won't want the salad or soup then just order 1 MC, you eat the salad and ask for an extra plate, split it at your table you generally are not charged the split plate fee.

At CO I really don't know what you get, the girls like to get the pasta from the kids menu, they get the double/double portion (double the food at double the cost) and we simply ask for an extra plate and split it ourselves at the table, we are not charged the split plate fee. We also get Pomme Frites, a MC and I usually get the gumbo/salad combo, sometimes we also add an order of beignets for dessert.
