So my DD and her friend, both avid wdw and DL fans and university students traveling abroad, are experiencing their first dp visit. Tonight, their first night, they booked a 9pm cafe mickey reservation at the advice of people on these boards. I was hesitant to make the reservation after reading quite a few negative reviews, and even more so when I found out they could no longer order a la carte thus cost was going to be a little high for their budgets.

I'm pleased to report they said they had a fabulous meal! Good, or ok, or kinda icky but fun seeing characters, I was expecting but incredible I was not. She said the service, character interaction, food and overall experience was really top notch.

Food wise she said they served them way too much food, but taste wise she said it put wdw food to shame, and we like wdw food. Perhaps they had a good chef tonight but regardless, thanks for the recommendation. If I had just relied on reviews I would have passed. She said she thinks it was 40 euro total pp, which is reasonable for a good meal.

Another thing, so far she said everyone who works at DLP has been super helpful and friendly. They could care less that its miserable weather. They can't wait to potentially see snow in DL and get some pics bright and early tomorrow.

Glad to see that they had a nice meal and lots of good interactions :cool1:

If they were up really early they might have seen some snow as it did snow a little in the early hours - Only a light dusting left on the grass and roofs now though and I don't know if we are going to have any more for the moment

Hope they continue to have a great time and get to see Dreams tonight :goodvibes

They really enjoyed Dreams.

The empty parks are kind of strange for them. They are freezing cold but still loving it and appreciate the differences between DLP, WDW and DL.

Tonight they ate at Rainforest and said it was fine, not as good as Chef Mickey's though. Tomorrow they are going to try Remy. The only reservation they could get was 5pm.

They did see some snow.. they did early entry this am and said they felt like they were in a closed park. Said it was fun to be in castle without anyone else but they are skipping the other early days. Said most everything is shut down so no real reason to go early tomorrow or Sunday.

Beautiful sunshine today for them - it's cold but dry - hope it stays that way all day :goodvibes

The parks will be busier today and Sunday as the local visiteurs come then but the cold and risk of bad weather will temper the effect.

EMH are really only for the little ones I find in terms of rides as it's nearly all Fantasyland but it's great to get photos and look at all the little details that make the differences between the US parks and Paris.

Pleased they are enjoying their trip and had a lovely meal in Cafe Mickey, hope they enjoy the rest of the trip:goodvibes
