We arrive in DLP on Eurostar at 12:30 lunch time and i was thinking whether we should do my daughters birthday meal when we arrive?

If we arrive at 12:30 we could book a table at Cafe Mickey for 1:15 ish?

We have Disney Express so wont have to worry about luggage?

Do u think this is a good idea OR will it be nicer to go straight to the park?

We want to order a birthday cake and have a nice birthday meal for my daughter who will be almost 3yrs old

Our orginal plan was to book after candlebration after park closing next week, but im worried that it will be far too busy and not good character interaction?

So thought there would be more character interaction at Lunch time?

What would u do?

1) Go straight to CAFE MICKEY when we arrive next monday for 1:15 ish?
2) Cafe Mickey at Lunch time on another day?
3) Stick to having meal after Candlebration as its low season anyway and prob wont be over busy at 7:30pm as no public holidays.

I would either do lunch the day your arrive, or lunch another day. Maybe when you arrive would be better as you won't feel like you're losing park time as you haven't been in yet?

I think thats a good idea - it will get your DD used to the characters in a calm and relaxed setting as well, before you hit the mayhem of the parks :goodvibes .

Thanks for ur replies.... i was thinking that it will be a good idea as i can dress my daughter in her dress up costume on the Eurostar or she can wear it while we travel.

Also hopefully it wont be busy so we will have good character interaction.

BUT i will be dying to get in the parks :rotfl:

Couple of questions:

1) If we eat at lunchtime, are there the same amount of characters there as the evening, & will we definately see Mickey and Minnie?

2) If we arrive in DLP at 12:30 & we have the Disney Express Service, will booking a table at 1pm be pushing it too fine?

3) How long do you think we will need to eat in Cafe Mickey? If we book for 1pm when do u think we will be likely to be hitting the parks?

Thanks for being patient with all my questions :rotfl: :rotfl:

1. I've never been in the evening, but we've usually had about 8 characters, and we've seen Mickey and Minnie both times (I wouldn't say I'd guarantee it though)

2. Maybe book for 1.15, and if you get there earlier, turn up and ask if they can seat you then and there?

3. If you got there for 1pm, I'd say 2:30 or 3pm depending on how fast you eat.

You're not guaranteed to see both Mickey and Minnie, but you should see Mickey (its his restaurant) if you stay for 2 lots of characters coming out (they come out around every half hour or so, and stay out for a while).

You'll probably want to spend at least an hour in the restaurant, to make the most of the character interaction.

I'd personally go for your original plan of a 1.15 reservation, as you will need to register at the Disney Express desk in the train station when you arrive at DLRP, to get your luggage delivered using the service (thats what I understand anyway, from other posters here).

i ate at lunchtime and we saw mickey, king leon??, goofy, friar tuck and chip and dale. there seemed to be different characters like gepetto and tweedildum and tweedildee at night but the same amount of characters.

i think you would have time to get there if you dont stop and look in all the shops along the way :rotfl:

we spent like an hour and a half there but that was with a screaming toddler and we just wanted to get out :rotfl2: the only time she was quiet was when a character was with her and the rest of the time she was screaming for them friar tuck was excellent with her though and kept coming back. i have to say that mickey mouse spent more time with the adult groups that the kids. even at my table he went to my mom not my dd and didnt even stop for a photo??

 Im getting very excited now !!

Think your right about making it 1:15 and if we arrive earlier hopefully they will give us a table if they are not busy.

Then we can shoot off to the park after our meal :thumbsup2

I don't wish to be the bearer of bad news but when we went last year by Eurostar, the train was an hour late!!!

If you have any dining reservations it's worth considering as there is nothing worse than sitting on the train and not being able to do anything about it!!!!!

Oh No, that must have been awful :sad1:
I would be really upset if this happened!
