Cabs outside the parks?

For a variety of reasons, we're considering catching a cab to take us back to the WL after seeing Illuminations on our upcoming visit. I've read several places that there are usually cabs waiting outside all the parks at closing. Is this true? If so, where would they be? It has also been suggested that it may be faster to walk to one of the Epcot resorts and catch a cab there rather than try to rush out the main entrance. Any opinions on that?

Thank you!

Cabs at Epcot can be found by the bus stops. But your right, your best bet to exit the park through the International Gateway in World Showcase, and catch a cab at the Boardwalk. Its only a 5-10 minute walk once you leave Epcot and its much faster than walking all the way back to the front of the park.

On our last trip, we set up reservations with Mears to have a van pick us up at a certain time and take us to our resort (AKL). They are really good at waiting for you and if you have a large group, it's much cheaper than taking 2-3 cabs. The trip cost 8 of us $15.

I was just getting on to post a similar question. My husband just found out he will probably have to cut his trip short to attend a convention. According to our current schedule, he will have to leave Epcot to get to the airport. Is a cab his best option? Does anyone know how long he should allow and about how much it would cost? I saw JMD's suggestion of going to the Boardwalk.

That's sort of what I was thinking, especially since I'm assuming the International Gateway will be slightly less crowded than the main entrance at the end of the night.

So do the cabs congregate near the actual Boardwalk, or would we need to go to the front of the Inn?

That's a great idea, though I think our group is too small to make it worthwhile. Something for next time, though. Thanks!

I've never taken a cab from Boardwalk, but a CM should direct you to where the cab stand is. I believe it is in front of the Inn though.

Anyone have an idea on how much it might cost to take a cab (just one passenger . . . me!) from MK to Pop Century? :confused3

You need to walk up the stairs to the front of the main entrance, and 90% of the time there will be cabs waiting when you get there.
