I am thinking of a 50 point add on. This will give me 150 points every third year to take my grandson to the cabins. The vital year and first year is for 2027 Halloween.

I dont want to buy and then find 150 points still isnt enough to get ahead of the walkers. I own a small contract at BWV and find it impossible to get a standard view studio now

My other option was a guaranteed week but I already have 527 points - so 176 is a bit much ( travelling from the UK twice a year ) as I only want to do Halloween every 3rd year.

Has anyone seen those for rent and what sort of price pp? The dues and initial cost would not make economical sense renting at $22 a point

Lastly if I bought now and banked 2026 - would Member Service still book my Welcome Home first visit for next Halloween when the booking window opens?

Thanks 🎃

If you want the actual day of Halloween, you must own there. Last year Oct 30 and 31 availability was booked in advance of 7 months, this year it’s Oct 29, 30, and 31.

I wanted guaranteed week 43, but was told it wasn’t available…I’ve been asking for over a year. Just a few weeks ago I checked again and it was available, so I actually bought 2 weeks, one for myself and one for my sister to use (I pulled her hair a lot as child so I need to make amends). I will sell some BLT contracts to cover the cost. I have never seen the days available for rent.

You could always cash pay the cabins, but you would need to monitor when the 2027 booking window opens and reserve that first day.

I would probably get the week 43, sell points to cover the cost. Hopefully dues will come down if it’s part of LSL, and getting the fixed week should lock in the points required, as the trust model seems to allow DVC to raise the point charts (not just shuffle the point distribution) over time.

Another option is just book for the October days you’re able to secure with 7 month priority, the decorations are up all October and you’ll still have an amazing time.

They haven’t really sold a lot of contracts at CFW and I’d venture to guess those who bought a FW fir Halloween there won’t be renting them out very often because they most likely bought for that specific reason.

I would not count on that being an option unless you own that week.
