Cabins at fort wilderness

What are your thoughts on the cabins? We are planning a trip for October and my parents are considering going so we thought this would be a fun way to be together. I haven't seen many postings about this resort. The website says it's large and to consider renting a golf cart. Does anyone know what the rate is for this?

We just booked the cabins for our October vacation! I stayed at Fort Wilderness as a kid and can't wait to take my kids back there to experience it also I have read many reviews on the cabins and surrounding campground activities. It sounds like a wonderful place to unwind after a busy day at the parks. We are renting a golf cart for half the price thru Kenny at Tee Time rentals so check that out. We booked on the free dining pin code so our rate is as a package.

Just found this thread and have to pile on the cabin love. We will have our third stay at the cabins this fall. We use the buses and never have to wait very long. For our fall trip we thought about staying at the new Art of Animation...then we remembered a few things:

-sitting on the deck in the morning sipping coffee, so peaceful and quiet
-Catching the boat to the Magic Kingdom!
-Catching the boat to the monorail to go to Epcot!
-Catching the boat home from the Magic Kingdom and seeing the electric light parade!
-Sitting on the beach at the campground sipping a cool drink in the evening


We are so spoilt by the campground we have a hard time considering staying anywhere else. The only downside is the single bathroom. But we manage that without too much trouble.
