Have the cabins been updated? I have seen some disappointing reviews on this sight about them.

I don't know what you mean by "updated", but they are constantly cleaned and maintained. I saw somewhere recently they cabins will all be replaced in the "near" future just because thay have been there for several years and are not designed to last forever. I understand the new ones might be a more substantial construction. In the meantime the existing cabins are in good shape and are a good value for the Fort. (sometimes available with free dining)

I think the cabins are fine. Some of the decks are a little shabby but that's to be expected since they are exposed to the weather constantly.

I don't think the cabins are any different then other mods. An update would be nice but they are still cozy and clean. The cleaning staff is amazing too, anyone who does my dishes while on vacation is amazing in my book!

The decks are a little shabby... but inside; they are beautiful! We love staying there and thought they were great!!! Only recommendation was to rent a golf cart!

For a trip in 1999 we stayed in the cabins.

When I was planning the trip they were just finishing up replacing all of the Wilderness Homes with the current Wilderness Cabins. Disney was leasing the homes from Fleetwood and the lease was up. Not sure if there is a lease for the current cabins, but OP what exactly did you hear? I have read nothing. I think I have read that at some point they refurbed all the interiors.

In case anyone wants to know, the old homes were refurbished and are part of a snow bird 50+ community a few miles from WDW.

I believe it was 2009 when they refurbished the cabins.

I have stayed in the cabins a few times before we got the motorhome..Everything was wonderful the only thing I would suggest is a few comfortable chairs! After a long long day at the parks it sure would be nice to relax in comfort! Those wooden chairs are sure rough. We can't all:thumbsup2 fit on the couch!! Juat sayin!

Just got back from 1 week in the cabins. We loved them. Will definitely be going back soon. Cant beat em for the money!
