Cabin Suggestion

We will be staying in acabin in October. My wife and 3 daughters 6, 4 and 22 months will be spending two days at MK and 1 day at AK while staying at the cabins. We would like to be as close to the marina as possible. We also will be going to the Backyard BBQ. Any suggestions on which cabin area/loop we should try to be in?? Thanks

Hi Brian!

The cabin loops are not close to the Marina or Backyard BBQ area. But, the internal bus system is great! Just hop on a bus and in a few minutes you'll be there!

You can hop on a bus, but you will not get there in a few minutes! The bus system is awful as of late!
There are a couple of cabins in the 100 loop, but you have to be God or a close relative to get one! You can always call reservations and request one. Not sure what they'll tell you except what they tell us campers...Your loop request will be noted but there are no guarantees.

Have a great time on your trip. Make sure you go to the MNSSHP-It is the most fun you'll ever have at @ WDW!!!!

BTW-pack a light lunch for the bus ride!

You're so right about the busses lately. What a joke they were 2 weeks ago for our trip. One day, half my kids and my sis missed an hour of the morning at Epcot because they waited 45 minutes for one at the Outpost! What a shame! Most of the time, we waited almost 20 minutes for one (yellow) just to get to the Settlement from the 1500 Loop. It would have almost been faster to walk, or crawl!!

When we were there in Oct. it was pretty bad, but by our Jan. trip they had started reconfiguring the bus route to update the internal routes and instead of making it better, I think they made it worse!

Brian, go to the thread about "do you ride the bus or drive". It has sure given me something to think about for our August trip!

Can you rent a golf cart? You could drive down to the marina, leave it while you're at the parks, and pick it up when you come back. Then you don't have to rely on the buses as much for everything. We always rented a golf cart when we were at the cabins--although it's not necessary. We don't feel we need one when we're in our tt.

I guess from what I am hearing it doesn't matter where we end up with the cabin??? My wife and I aren't afraid of walking. I hear the whole Fort Wilderness area was about 1 mile long. Does that sound accurate??? Thanks for the help

Last May we stayed in the cabin and I requested and got loop 2100. It seemed in the middle to me, not a far walk to the pool and Meadows Trading post and campfire. We did use the internal bus to go to the marina area. We had no problems at all. We did have a car however so drove to most parks except MK. No golf cart.


This Sept we are staying at FW and I'm getting a golf cart just cause they look like fun and my FIL will be with us, 70 and will be easier for him.

Here is a map of FW. The cabins are located in 2200 to 2800 loops. I would request the 2200 loop as it is somewhat closer to the Meadow Trading Post and pool area. A golf cart is a great way to get around the Fort if you aren't able to bring bikes.

I'm pretty sure it's near or at Pavillion 1

Yep right adjacent to the stables so just hope the wind is in your favor J/K them clydesdales don't stink they're cute.
