Cabin Question

Can you use a crockpot in FW cabin? I know I would have to bring it because they aren't supplied. I haven't stayed in the cabins since 1994. Planning a possible 2 week trip and would love to be able to use my crockpot.

I don't think that's a problem, but I would check directly with FW as there may be a rule against leaving something cooking while you are out.
We did cook quick meals after a couple of our park days, like cheater chili heated through, and homemade pizza, but didn't try the crock pot method.
We brought WAY too much food, b/c we ended up snacking and eating in the parks more than we thought. But it was fun anyway!

I "did" contact Fort Wilderness about this directly. Their response to me was, I was welcome to bring it and use it...as long as we didn't leave it on when we weren't there!

Sort of defeats the purpose of a crock pot, doesn't it? How many people are going to sit around and watch the crock pot do its thing all day?

I know that when the mousekeeping cleaned our cabin they left the TV on with our dd's dolls on the bed so that it would look like they had been watching the DVC channel. So I don't think that a crockpot would be that much of a big deal.

I wish I had thought of it when we were there last year!

OK, that sounds like the answer I was expecting. I think I will just try it and see. If mousekeeping turns it off, just need to make a last minute ADR I thought maybe someone had used one and knew first hand. Thanks for the replies!

I used mine while we were there and while we were in the park. not one person said anything. use your crockpot. that's a crock not leaving it on while your gone. pardon the pun.

We've used ours without anybody disturbing it.
