Please help me decide! I woke up this AM with a goal of changing to concierge level for my Oct 31, 2015 Fantasy cruise as this is my hubby's and my 25 anniversary gift; I'd like it to be very special. The only rooms they could offer me to choose fro are 12028 on the 12 deck (read some less than favourable reviews about this spot/ cleaner's cart in the way of your balcony and noisier area?) . 11004 is the other choice on deck 11.
Currently I have a cat 5E AFT room booked on deck 8 (8684) the views from here look amazing, but again some negative reviews of AFT rooms have me worried (diesel/ fuel smell and black soot falling on the balcony for example)
I understand people are quicker to complain than rave on the internet, so I am keeping an open mind to these choices. I'd love some feedback or things to consider in whether I should just keep my current booking or upgrade the $2,000 extra for concierge? Another downside is Concierge bookings, all deposits are non-refundable, so if something happened and I couldn't take my cruise, I am out $1,000!! Thoughts? :goodvibes

We stayed in 12028 on the Dream (so equivalent location, etc.) and LOVED the cabin (even if we really didn't use anything in concierge). The only time we saw the outside cleaners were when they were actually cleaning, and only because we'd gone back to the cabin to get something. We loved that there was a door to the outside right at the end of the hall, steps from the door. Our cabin steward referred to it as our private door as he never saw anyone else using it - and we never heard anyone else using it. IF we were ever going to stay concierge again (we personally don't fine if necessary, but that's us) we would have no qualms staying in 12028 again on either the Dream or the Fantasy.

I have spent 14 nights in 12012 on the fantasy, perfect room no issues -at all, some people who post negative things about top deck rooms, haven't actually ever stayed there!

I would vote to change to 12028. We are on the same cruise and have room 12508 booked. I loved the 12th floor. Concierge will also make your cruise that much more special.

If you're worried about having to cancel your trip I would suggest getting travel insurance.

We stayed in 12026 on the Fantasy and LOVED it. I agonized over reviews that reported noise above, noise outside room 12026 because of the bathrooms, etc., but none of these things were issues for us on the ship. I would 100% recommend room 12028 if you want to go concierge. Having the lounge right outside of your room instead of on the deck above was a big plus for us.
As for whether to go concierge at all, I can't help you there. We will never sail anything but concierge again because we loved it so much, but that's us :-) It is a big cost difference, so you have to consider that.

I have never been on a cruise, BUT we have 12028 booked for the Aug 29 Fantasy cruise. I had your same concerns after reading reviews, but I really wanted to be on deck 12 and it was the last available room when I booked. I am looking forward to it. To me, being on deck 12 was better than a little noise. We plan to bring a small fan to give us some "white noise" at night. Good luck choosing!

The deposit can be moved to a new reservation.

Assuming they know they are definitely going to cruise in the future - preferably with a date. Not everyone wants to just keep moving things up and up and up.

We had 11004 last year and are booked again in that room for our upcoming Eastern. We loved the room, especially the bumped out balcony! I for sure would snatch up this room. People speak about being on 12 because it is close to the lounge but it is only up a few stairs, not far at all, we were in and out of there all the time.

We're booked in 11004 on our upcoming April 2015 Dream cruise. It's proximity to the Concierge lounge on Deck 12 was of no consequence to us. I'm a "Spa Diva" on dry ground so our suite's proximity to the Spa was a nice "plus"...

Will submit a TR when we return. Our review is, of course, subjective. But, maybe it'll help in the decision making process for future cruisers.

Bon voyage! Buen viaje!

Now I'm considering switching again!!! Arghh! So hard :) but I do love concierge and it's nice to hear a good review

Concierge sounds wonderful. My only concern would being so far forward and high. We were on deck 8 forward on our last cruise with rough seas and we were really rocking. The whole boat was rocking, but you can feel it more when your forward. If your not prone to motion sickness than it's not problem. I don't know how much you have cruised so I thought I would mention it. Aft, midship, and lower decks usually have less movement. Just something to consider if your new to cruising.

Well, I bit the bullet and upgraded to concierge tonight! 11004, hoping its a nice location. As this is an adult only trip and our 25 anniversary splurge, I wanted to make it special. It's my first time cruising, hope I don't have a problem being sea sick! Guess I'll see when I'm there lol:)

Well, you won't know if any illness is because of the sea or because of the location on the ship. :)

Not sure if the Fantasy cruises cross/go through the Florida Straits, but if they do, that first night is generally the rockiest. If you feel a bit wonky (for me I tend to feel like I'm a bit drunk on that first night) the first night don't freak out about it too much.

I would have said 12028, which we still consider to be "our" cabin on Dream, but I'm sure 11th floor will be good, too.

Trying to decide as well...we are on deck 7 now but seeing about upgrading to concierge...what did you mean by "door to the outside" that only you used?

We stayed in 12026 right next door, and loved it. Never noticed the cart outside our room. It wasn't noisy, it was nice and close to the Concierge Lounge, we would book it again in a second and would have no problem with 12028, either.

Also, don't worry too much about the reviews. I do the same thing and read every review out there, spend hours researching everything. I spent so much time choosing 12026 and was worried about noise from above, carts in the hall, etc., but when you are there you rarely even notice these things! I couldn't tell you if there was noise, carts, or anything else - we had a GREAT time.
