hey everyone. I'm just starting to look into a cruise for our family. Does anyone have any recommendations of the best accommodations for a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids, ages 4,5,8, and 10)?

Hi sweetly in VT. Me too I am looking for cabin to fit 6. we are looking to take fantasy cruise but max per room is 5. When are you looking to go? I am going with my husband and 4 young children all under 10.

You will need to book 2 connecting cabins. an adult will need to be the lead name for each cabin. But it does not matter who sleeps in each cabin.

Others have also booked 1 cabin w/ verandah and 1 cabin directly across the hall (inside cabin).

We have 7 and bought two adjoining rooms with a port hole, no balcony, because of having little kids (would hate for anyone to have an accident). I think this would be your best option with that many.

We are also a family of 6. 2 adults and 4 kids 11 and under. On Disney we have always done connecting staterooms. On Royal Caribbean they have family staterooms that sleep 6 and when they offer the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th 50% off we have sailed for a great price. I know you asked about Disney but figured I'd share the other cruise line info too. When we are not sailing Disney we are usually on a Royal ship.

Have fun planning!

As a big family, are there parts of the ship in which there are rooms you prefer for your young family?
in the middles? Lower? Or higher decks?

Hi there!

We are a family of five and booked two connecting oceanview rooms (9C, I think). We were on Deck 2 and thought they were perfect! We were on the Wonder.

For our next room, the pricing worked out better for the five of us to share a family Oceanview, but I think they only sleep a maximum of five. This is on the Fantasy though.

I am not able to compare at this point, but I think it will be hard to beat the two connecting rooms on the Wonder. The price difference was just to high to do connecting rooms on the Fantasy though. Hopefully, we will all survive. We didn't spend too much time in our rooms on our Wonder cruise, so I'm trying to be optimistic!

Have a wonderful cruise. Your children will have a ball!

We are a family of 6 also with 4 kids 13 and under. We get two connecting rooms and leave the door open between except at night. It's been great to have the space and 2 bathrooms. It's definitely not cheap to travel with one extra!
