Cabin Door Signs

So, VM- if I sent you a package of magnetic paper, would you be willing to make me a couple of signs? I'd need one for DH and I (we're celbrating our 25th wedding anniversary) and my DS and her DH- they're also celebrating 25! You could keep the rest of the package for your own personal use. :teeth:

PRETTY PLEASE?!?!?!?!?

That would not be a problem at all. Just make sure to send whatever info you want on the sign, I will come up with something and e-mail you a photo of, for your approval, before the final copy is printed on the sheet of magnet paper.

You're the BEST! I'm sending you a pm.

Zandy595 - I'm in Stuart too. Off Kanner Hwy. Used to live in Jupiter. And your birthday is the same as my DS!
Unfortunately we have to wait a bit longer for our cruise. We are not going until 12/11!

WalMart also has the magnetic paper. I think it was 5 sheets for about $4.
Andy, yours are much nicer than the one I just made using my Mickey Print Shop disc. Your colors are better.
My friend made one last year for my husband's (60th) birthday and we left it on the door all week and it never disappeared. Maybe because it said Happy Birthday Fred! That sign made it easy to find out room every time. Boy all those doors look alike!

VM - What program did you use to do your "Welcome Aboard" sign? Microsoft Word, Publisher?? They turned out very cool.

Thanks, I used my Print Shop Deluxe version 10 program for all the door signs.

Thanks VM! I hope that our sign will look as nice as yours :D

Does anyone know if the vinyl cling stuff will stick on the doors as well as the magnets?? I have access to a die cut machine at my office and made lots of Mickey Mouse balloon shaped cut outs in a variety of sizes and in black, white, red, and yellow to put on our door. Some of them are vinyl cling stuff and some are magnets.
Will I be able to use both?? I may try writing something on them, hadn't really thought about it yet. Just trying to get the clothes selected and thought out!

ok ~ I got my magnetic paper today from Wal-mart.....$7 something for 5 sheets!!

anyway - where can I find disney pics to use??

I had a problem too. I would like to see more signs. My DD13 has been working (drawing) all day on her design. She only stopped for meals. I would like to post her sign but don't know how to do it. Anyone know how? princess:

Do you have a scanner to download the drawing into your computer? Or, do you have a digital camera that you can take a photo of the drawing and download the photo into your computer? If you can get that done, than if you open an account in the DIS Photo Gallery, you can upload the photo in there, then you will be able to attach the photo into a post.

Thanks, Verandah Man!

We have both a digital camera and a scannner. We will work on it. When she's finished we will try it! :D :D

Another question, can the door signs be adhered to the door with a tape that leaves no residue when removed? My daughter started her drawing on plain paper rather than the magnetic type that was referred to in previous posts?

If you go to a local arts and crafts store they should have some magnetic strips that you can purchase and put on the back of your DD's drawing, I think that would be better than using tape. We have found the magnetic strips in our local A.C. Moore.

mey, JoAnn Fabric also has magnetic paper that is sticky on one side. You could just peel the paper off the sticky side and put your daughter's picture on it. They sell the magnet strip rolls there too.

mey ~ Or you could scan the picture and then print it out on magnetic paper. If you don't want to do that, I would suggest laminating it to make it more durable. :)

I'm working on my sign and will post it when I'm done.

For our 10th anniversary, I went to Party City and got one of those "Happy Annniversary" banners made of letters joined together. They also had letters and numbers, along with the fasteners, so that you could create your own banner. I made another one that says "10 Years" with a heart in the middle. I got magnet strips from Michaels that had adhesive backs, cut them and stuck them to the letters. But for the Disney Touch, I got Disney Stickers and put them on all the letters of both banners. We had many compliments and congratulations and the door was easy to find. Our stateroom host said it was one of the most creative he'd seen (must've been the stickers ;)) and everywhere we went for dinner, etc. we were congratulated on our anniversary. He must've told someone... :D

This sounds so cool! I'm going to put this on my list of things I have to do while sailing!:wave2: :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

Disneefun - Sounds cool! Did you take any pictures??

I have my sign done, but I can't figure out how to open an account in the DIS Photo Gallery.

Could someone tell me how to do that, please? :wave2:
