Cabin Check in and DME bag delivery question

once we check in, I had read somewhere I think, that you will be driven (in carts?) to your cabin with all your bags. Is that accurate or will we need to wait for an internal bus. We arrive very late, probably 11pm by the time DME gets us there. The idea of waiting for another bus, with all our bags, and groceries that should be waiting for us, is somewhat depressing.

Also, I had read that DME can take up to 3 hours to deliver your bags. Given our timing I'm wondering if we should try to go 100% carryon. Obviously I don't want bags delivered to the cabin at 2am! We will carry on most anyway to avoid the check in fees.

Thanks!

Fear not, when you are checking-in tell them you need a ride and they will assign a van for you, your luggage and your groceries. And when you are ready to check out, just call and they will send a van to fetch you. As far as Magical Express, I don't have any experience, but I suspect that arriving late you will have better luck getting your bags quickly. I'm sure someone better informed will be along shortly.

A van will bring your bags to your site.

For your checked bags you a few options. Option one is to not put the DME tags on the bags and claim them yourself at MCO before heading down to check in at the DME counter. You will carry your bags to the bus and the driver will load and unload them for your(a tip would be customary for the driver). Option two is to go ahead and use the tags, when you get to FW tell the front desk to please hold your DME bags until morning. When you get up and are ready for your bags just call and have them deliverd. Regardless of which option you choose it is always best to pack what you will need for the first 24 hours in a carry on in case the airline delays your bags.
If you choose to have DME handle the bags, you do not need to be in your cabin for the bags to be delivered and the tip is already included.

I think we will skip the DME on the way down, that seems the safest option.
