we booked a room on Deck 7 months ago on the Fantasy for next spring. I just received a confirmation email this morning and noticed that they changed our cabin - and moved us from starboard to port side. We chose our cabin # because it contained our son's birth date. He'd get a kick out of that.

Why would they do this?

I don't know why they do it, but just email or call them quickly and explain. They may well be able to put you back there.

I suppose it could have been to keep a group together perhaps?:confused3

Good luck!

I also received an email this morning that changed my 11c cabin to a GTY. It's for the 11/17/12 Fantasy sailing. If I pull up my reservation, I can change it back to my original cabin number. I'm not sure if I should keep the GTY.

Personally I would keep the GTY .... in my little experience, you have a better chance of an upgrade. (3 cruises, 2 as GTY and upgraded both times) :cool1: We're on a GTY for this Aug too and keeping our fingers crossed!

Was your cabin handicapped accessible? If so they probably moved you to accommodate someone needs an HA cabin. Whenever you book one of those, you can only be sure to keep it if you can provide medical proof of need.

If it wasn't, I'd call DCL and ask what's up!

No; I don't believe so.
And I just noticed that they changed our show time from 5om to 9pm - which is simply not doable with our 2 little ones.

That's because they don't HAVE a 5pm show on the Dream anymore. They did away with the show completely. Since you're probably early dinner, that means you have to go to the late show.

I'd call right away... maybe they were hoping you wouldn't notice it?

DCL has done away with the 3 show times. There are 2 dinner times and 2 show times. If you have Main Seating you will go to the later show after dinner. If you have Second Seating you will go to the early show before dinner. You will not be able to have Main Seating and the early show as the show will be going on during the Main Seating dinner.

Last night DCL updated ALL reservations to the new dining/show times and in this process, many staterooms numbers were "accidentially" changed. You need to call DCL to get it fixed.

It seems to me like they should get rid of either the 7pm or the 9pm show, NOT the 5pm show! Too many people have wee little ones who just can't stay up until 10 or 11 at night to watch a show! I think that if you have the main seating, you should go to the show at 5pm and then if you have late seating, they either do a show before or a show after (doesn't matter to me), but at least that way, little kiddos can go to dinner AND see a show! As DCL has it now, little ones either eat and miss seeing Mickey and his friends on the stage or they get to see the show and starve! :rotfl:

When we cruised on the Magic we did early dining with late show and it worked out okay. I made sure my almost 2 y.o. napped every day and then he stayed awake for most of the show1 If not he slept in my lap til the end and my dh carried him back to our cabin.:goodvibes Although i think our show was at 8:00.

OMG! So what times are the dinners?

I agree!!!

OMG! So what times are the dinners?

Early is usually 5:45 and you see the 8:30 show.
Late is usually 8:15 or 8:30 and you will see the 6:00 show.

Those are usually the times, but sometimes DCL will tweak the times within 15 minutes or so. If you are on a longer cruise where they show a movie in the WD theater then it will start earlier than the above times.

I have a question.....Do the Dream/Fantasy have matinee shows? If so, if you have little ones can't you do the matinee show and early dinner?:confused3

I have only been on one cruise and I disn't even think to notice a matinee option, however, if it is an option on our Fantasy cruise next June, it might be helpful.

Right now it seems they only have a matinee for Believe, which is at 4:00pm.

Dream started with 3 show concept.
I have read that the 5 pm show was ways sparcelly attended.
Most people will go to the other shows.
So it was no surprise they eliminated them altogether !
I know sometimes days at sea they might have an early show depending on the show!
Maybe if more people actually preferred and went to the early show they would have stuck with them at 5.

Glad GTY worked for you. I'm not sure I'd do it again if I was hoping for an upgrade or even a good location. 3 different sailings and 3 GTY rooms booked...all 3 rooms assigned were for exact category GTY booked for. Yes, we were fine with that category, we did book it after all. But, I have learned to not hope for upgrades or anything special.

In the last few days, I believe a larger group (or maybe a TA) has been booking up blocks of rooms.

We booked 2 rooms on Deck 7 for a Nov 2012 Fantasy sailing. I was eyeing a third room next door, and the category goes from Guaranty to rooms available daily (as in 6 rooms will be available, and the next morning not available, and then 6 more rooms are released).
