Okay I am a little upset because I discovered from this board that I am staying in one of the noisy cabins on deck 2! I have heard that somehow through expedia or something that you can go online and check to see what cabins are booked and which are still available. I would like to know is it possiblt to change your cabin location and how to check for availability myself of cabins.:(

Daves noisy stateroom list, by his own admission to me, is not the gospel.....

What stateroom are you in?

You can request a cabin change - I would think whether you get it depends on when you are cruising and how full the ship is.

I have seen posts here from people who stayed in some of the cabins on the noisy list and had no problems and were not bothered by noise at all.

midship, it looks like beneath guest services or atrium....I really don't think you will have a noise problem there, especially later in evening.....

The worst staerooms for noise are located directly below clubs/restaurants....

Expedia, Travelocity, etc. only show up to 8 of the "best available" cabins for a given category on a given deck. They seem to define this as closest to mid-ship. So while you can use these sites to get a rough idea of what's available, there's no site I know of which will give you a complete list of what's taken and what isn't. If you have a specific cabin or area of the ship in mind, you can call and ask, and they'll tell you what's available.

Does Expedia buy blocks of rooms? If they do, wouldn't they just show you rooms that are available from the blocks they purchased?

I'm really not worried about what I'm below, I'm worried about what I am above. I read that our cabins are above mechanical equipment or something of the like. Anyone Know?

You can certainly call DCL. They will change your cabin assignment to any unsold cabin in the same category.....frequently, they will not change at the port (they don't want to be bothered, so they put up a sign that says that the ship is full.) However....even after you board, there are always open cabins, and IF you have a problem with the cabin, they will move you. The one exception to open cabins may be the repo cruises (like the maiden voyage) where they literally sell every cabin. Even when they list the ship as "full," there are open spaces. We were moved on a "full" ship when they couldn't repair a mechanical problem in our cabin.
