Cabin Availability

Does anyone know if cabin availability increases closer to PIF date? We would love to move to a verandah cabin, but right now nothing that works for us is available. I check everyday (usually more than once), but just wondering if there tended to be any new openings around that time.

It can only increase if people cancel or move bookings on now cruise by cruise is different.

So availability " could" increase the weeks before a PIF but you can't bank on it.

Probably a good idea to check randomly but especially around the time full payment is due as that is when people are likely to drop out.

I kept a watch on the Fantasy cruise we just took (just for curiosity) and it was strange how much it changed. One day all the Verandah rooms would be gone. The next day all the porthole rooms would be gone but there would be verandah rooms open, then the same for the inside rooms and concierge. It flip flopped again and again right up to within just a few days of the cruise. I didn't think it would change that much after the PIF date but it sure did! At one point all that was open was inside rooms and then over the next 2 weeks lots of other rooms opened up. I am not sure if was because people had to cancel (even last minute) due to unforeseen circumstances or if DCL holds rooms and then releases them right before the sailing. Just keep checking......

Did you notice trends in pricing? Did they just keep going up?

That is interesting, I didn't know that you paid what the price would have been on the day you originally booked... I know prices have increased since we booked. How do I find out what the price would be? We booked through Dreams Unlimited.

My travel agent was unaware of this as well. They insisted I was going to get the current price. I had read it out here, I had them call Disney cruise line and the info I got here was correct, they told my travel agent what the price for the upgraded room was on the day I booked, and that was the price I got ( less 10% for my onboard booking)
