Has anyone stayed in Cabin 8600? I'm aware it will be a bit of a different layout since it is handicap accessible.

Is it more square feet than a normal Cat 3 or less? What is the layout of the room compared to a normal Cat 3?

Thanks.

Actually yes, I have stayed in 8600. :) As you know, it is a handicapped-accessible Cat. 3 that is HUGE, but the verandah is not as large as 8602 (Barb's photos). The master bath has a roll-in shower and there is no jacuzzi tub at all. The verandah does not have the clear plexiglass railing, you have to stand up to be able to see the ocean.

This is definitely larger than the "average" Cat. 3. You enter via a long hallway, on the right is the second bathroom and you then enter a large dining/seating area, with a pull-out couch. The master bedroom and bath are on your left, and you have a walk-in closet.

This cabin only sleeps FOUR, there is no pull-down bed.

Enjoy your cruise! :)

There is no jacuzzi tub??? :( Why wasn't I told this when I booked the cabin?? I was really looking forward to the tub. You think they'd notify of something missing from a normal Cat 3 when you book!

Typically the reservationists at DCL do not have all the information about the suites at their fingertips, or they do not always have current information, unfortunately, and all they mention about the four handicapped-accessible Cat. 3s is that they are handicapped-accessible. :)

The whirlpool tub that you get in a regular Cat. 3 is just a big bathtub with a few water jets, it's not like it's a spa-type jacuzzi, just to clarify.

Hopefully you will be able to switch to a different Cat. 3 if they are available, if the whirlpool tub is that important to you. Just realize you are giving up quite a bit in terms of SPACE if you switch. No matter what, you really can't go wrong in ANY Cat. 3 that you have. :)

I did not book with DCL...I booked with Dreams!! I was told it was a handicap room, but not that it was bigger or that there was no tub. Having been in a Cat 3 before, a normal one was plenty big enough. This is only for my husband and myself, after all.

I loved the bath on our last trip, and had looked forward to...sharing the experience with my new hubby on our honeymoon! :(

We'll still LOVE our cruise. Just wished that this information had been presented to me when we were trying to decide on cruise dates and rooms. It may have made a difference in our plans.
